Yeah they’re supposed to put the ball on the inch thereSo on a replay like this, I can understand not giving him a touchdown, but shouldn't they at least put it on the 1 inch line?
They trailed all game to a team missing its best offensive player and led by a middling QB. They’re not a top 4 team.I'll be shocked if TCU doesn't stay in the final 4 with an OT loss in the championship game
So I guess RIP to Alabama then, right?Kick TCU out of the top 4. Losing to a 3 loss team doesn’t get you a bid to the playoff.
So no fourth team?Kick TCU out of the top 4. Losing to a 3 loss team doesn’t get you a bid to the playoff.
And neither is Ohio State or Alabama, who didn't even make it to a game this weekend. TCU is in.They trailed all game to a team missing its best offensive player and led by a middling QB. They’re not a top 4 team.
What’s your Top 4?Kick TCU out of the top 4. Losing to a 3 loss team doesn’t get you a bid to the playoff.
Ummmmmmm so did Alabama.Kick TCU out of the top 4. Losing to a 3 loss team doesn’t get you a bid to the playoff.
Lol wonder which will end up more competitive.Oh good just in time for LSU Georgia
I have no interest in watching Georgia blow this team out. I’d rather just give them a bye.And neither is Ohio State or Alabama, who didn't even make it to a game this weekend. TCU is in.
I'd like to see the game. I enjoy watching this QB. You're entitled not to watchI have no interest in watching Georgia blow this team out. I’d rather just give them a bye.
Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, AlabamaWhat’s your Top 4?
He might not make it out of Q1I'd like to see the game. I enjoy watching this QB. You're entitled not to watch
And what are their good wins? The committee likes good winsGeorgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Alabama
The Big 12 is a weak conference. Alabama’s two losses both on the road by 3 at the buzzer and by 1 in overtime. They are better than TCU.
Tennessee has as much chance of getting in as Brown does.So after these last couple of games....goodbye TCU and USC. So....
1. Georgia
2. Michigan
3. Ohio State
4. ?? Alabama? Tennessee?
I don't see any way a TCU team that just lost to Kansas State is getting in over 2-loss Alabama, even though they may deserve it. Almost nobody cares about TCU, but everyone cares about Alabama. That's going to factor in.
Honestly, I think the fourth team is going to be Alabama, and then I think the matchups will be Georgia-Alabama and Michigan-Ohio State. Even if nobody is thrilled with all that, that's the most likely outcome.
Agree with logic but not pairing. Give me Georgia/OSU, Bama/MichSo after these last couple of games....goodbye TCU and USC. So....

Isn’t that just the old system?Just get rid of the Semis
Georgia Michigan for the championship
Ole Miss and Texas. Both on the road. Who is TCU’s best win? Texas? Kansas State who they beat by 10 in the regular season only to lose now to them? Alabama vs Georgia will be a better game. And what are their good wins? The committee likes good wins
In a vacuum sure.Isn’t what’s best for the sport competitive championship games? Who would everyone put their money on first to actually emerge from the playoffs? Alabama or TCU?
Yes, beating Texas by more than a point and KState by 10 are better wins than Alabama had. They might not be a better team, but they had a better season. And they shouldn't be penalized by losing in OT in their Championship while Alabama was sitting homeOle Miss and Texas. Both on the road. Who is TCU’s best win? Texas? Disagree that the Big 12 is weak. They might not have Georgia roaming around, but it's deep. Even the bad teams are capable. You don't get to cite Alabama's quality win as the Big 12's third place team and call the conference weak, imo.The Big 12 is a weak conference.
The committee starts with what they want and establish the criteria thereafter. What they like changes depending on what they want to justify. And what are their good wins? The committee likes good wins
No doubt. I guess I listened to the committee chair on Tuesday talking about how they like to look at wins. But you're certainly correct. The committee starts with what they want and establish the criteria thereafter. What they like changes depends on what they want to justify.
Yes.Just get rid of the Semis
Georgia Michigan for the championship
Yes.Isn’t that just the old system?
That would mean they'd have to leapfrog Michigan over Georgia, or Alabama over Ohio State. Obviously they can do that but it seems a bit fake.Agree with logic but not pairing. Give me Georgia/OSU, Bama/Mich
Don’t need the Mich/OSU rematch so soon, imoThat would mean they'd have to leapfrog Michigan over Georgia, or Alabama over Ohio State. Obviously they can do that but it seems a bit fake.
The entire point of the committee is to engineer a playoff that ESPN wants. Otherwise they could have just used the AP or a BCS-type formula. That would mean they'd have to leapfrog Michigan over Georgia, or Alabama over Ohio State. Obviously they can do that but it seems a bit fake.
But expanding does move the talk of the 4th best and moves it down to a team that has almost zero chance of competing. Can't even find four super deserving teams this year (everybody except UGA and Michigan have major warts) and they're expanding the field to 12 teams in two years. Yikes.
TCU and Alabama have a common opponent. TCU handled Texas much more easily than Alabama - who is lucky (and bad non safety call) as hell to have won. Also, TCU beat Oklahoma State back when Spencer Sanders and the rest of their team was healthy. Maybe that doesn't look like a quality win now, but it is in my book.
Bc LSU left the field lolBlocked field goal for a TD for the Dawgs.
Well dumb by LSU. Good ole Kelly killing his teamBc LSU left the field lol
