Just checked in on the FCS game -- 38-14 SDSU in the 3rd.

I don't know when the right time is to play this game, but it can't be head to head with the last week of the NFL regular season.

I flew into LAX yesterday (not for the game) and judging from the garb at the terminal and rental car counters it’ll be a heavily Georgia crowd.

IIRC, the last couple of years it was played *after* the CFP championship game.

Why couldn't it have been on Saturday? Lead in for the 4:30 NFL game versus going up against 10 1PM NFL games on Sunday.

Georgia has an enrollment of approximately 39k and is and has always been the top Dawg in GA fan wise and has a long tradition and has a weak pro team football-wise and plays in a 92k stadium
TCU had an enrollment of about 12k and has little tradition and is like the 6th biggest college team in Texas and has America’s Team 20 minutes away and plays in a 45k stadium.

Heavily Georgia crowd was never in doubt

Also, Georgia fans were able to pencil this into their calendar a year ago.

I've spent the last 9 days trying to figure out who I want to win this game and I've determined that I don't give a shit. I thought once the game started I would care -- like maybe I would decide that I want the underdog. But the truth is that I just cannot seem to find a reason to care. I guess just root for a good game, but I kind of feel as though by the time I've decided what I want it's going to be effectively over.

I’m repeating, yes, I can’t help it, the level Herbie brings to a College broadcast compared to his Amazon work is vast.

Milton sets it up, and then Paradise Found for Sidecar Benecourt IV. They made that look pretty easy.

Ideal start for TCU. They gotta slow this down a bit, otherwise they may get run out of the building.

Does TCU recruit nationally at this point or is there just so much talent in Texas they can stick to it and surrounding states? I know they’ve been active in the transfer portal as well.
Texas only mostly, yes. Bunch of 2 and 3 stars. They’re not that good - I don’t say that to be disrespectful but Duggar has played so far out of his mind he’s won games they otherwise lose fairly routinely. They have fast WRs and Johnson is legit good though Their D plays unconventional and teams failed for it. Kirby Smart won’t.

Edit: speaking of Johnson

No problem, I appreciate the honesty.

That’s brilliant. Why are the horned frogs the cockroaches?
Back in the days of the Southwest Conference, TCU would occasionally put together a team good enough to beat Texas. This greatly annoyed Coach Royal when it happened and in an interview once he called TCU annoying, like cockroaches that get under your feet when you walk in a really messy house. They’ve been the cockroaches in Austin ever since.
