What is your expectation for a good lineup of games?

This looks like a pretty solid early season slate.
Good programs vs good programs. We have Alabama/Florida (although Bama will be win by 21+), Penn State/Auburn (I don't expect Auburn to do well in that environment vs that defense). I guess VT at West Virginia might be interesting, and same with Tulane at Ole Miss and BYU vs Arizona State, but the day lineup is full of meh matchups imo.

I think it's always like this early in the season. We don't know the good games because we don't know the good teams. But every weekend has something awesome. I just don't see how any full slate of college football is "terrible". It's never terrible.

This week last year, there were 9 games total. That sounds much more terrible to me.

I love the line of Purdue/Notre Dame. The gap between what Vegas thinks of ND (only 7 point favorites at home) and the polls (10th/12th) really makes it clear who makes money on accurately assessing teams, and who makes money off ensuring the most famous teams are ranked high

VaTech @ WV (mentioned)
Stanford v. Vandy Academic Bowl (kidding)
Northwestern v. Duke Academic Bowl (kidding)
UVA v. UNC

UMass announced this afternoon that 9 starters missed practice, including their QB, after being beat up in B2B weeks by Pitt and BC. Got Eastern Michigan -18 immediately before it went to -21. This isn’t the first time I was able to apply info from a Twitter alert early in the week. Same thing happened when it was tweeted that Kiffin was out and was still able to get Louisville plus 10 before it moved to 7.5

Watch out for that Fresno team. First year head coach in a Covid year last season with first full offseason this year. Took care of business vs UConn and Cal Poly out scoring them 108-10 and lost in Oregon by a TD.

Fun fact: Fox putting that game at noon pissed of OU so much they took the public lead over Texas to ditch the Big 12
It's crazy in Norman. I managed to get to Walmart this morning, but struggled to get back home afterwards. Saturday morning is my shopping time and that's why I hate these noon (11:00 am here) starts. Lots of Nebraska folks here.

In 2+ games vs FBS schools Uconn is being outscored 115-0. I imagine they must be making money just by being FBS even as an independent otherwise wtf are they doing

Just so you know, I’m praying to all the gods for a meteorite to hit Norman within the next hour and a half sooooo don’t die.

Alas, the gods did not accede to your request. OU survived a feisty Nebraska team. (And, I'm still here, too.)
OU looks … not good. Yet they’ll still beat my Horns by 20 cause of course.

Their game vs WVU next week will be interesting.

Meanwhile Michigan State and Michigan might both be good this year.

Clemson’s defense is solid—outstanding, in fact. But color me unimpressed with the offense’ play calling and QB5‘s decision making. Inconsistent is the best way to describe both. I’m not convinced by this kid nor the Clemson offense…yet, anyway.

Michigan hasn’t played a real game yet, but they’ve run for 1,051 yards in three games. That feels insane.

Also insane: Iowa just had a 20 play drive. That’s right, 20 plays. 95 yards. TD.

That overturned INT against Ohio State was as comical as anything I've seen.

I don't get the point of trying to get it right if they are going to get things so wrong.
