Tacko Fall is tall. So tall in fact he doesn’t fit in buildings. Even those specifically designed for basketball players.
The Boston Celtics 7-foot-6 rookie did not play in the team’s season opening loss against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday after entering concussion protocol on Monday. Head coach Brad Stevens said little about the injury other than “it was kind of a freak thing,” per WEEI in Boston.
Prior to the game in Philadelphia, Fall explained it was all due to a “low ceiling.” Which is highly subjective.

Only one game--and against probably the most physically dominant big in the league--but it's going to be interesting to see how the center thing plays out. Kanter didn't show me much one way or the other (and I'm fairly positive Embiid is the worst possible matchup for a guy like him) and TimeLord seemed typically raw. This could be why they were fouling so much -- Brown had 4 PF in the first half and was pretty much a non-factor in the second (when perhaps relatedly they fell apart).

Might we see Fall earlier rather than later? Assuming, that is, that he stops concussing himself on "low ceilings."

No. He’s not close to ready for NBA minutes.

I hope not. He only gets 45 days on the roster (I think). I'd rather they spend the early season figuring out the 4 they have and let Fall play in Maine. If he gets it, then maybe he gets some time later in season.

Fall just needs to be with the team for 15 days so the Celtics can retain his RFA rights for next season. Outside of those 15 days, we shouldn't expect to see much of Fall.

I'm going to be a bit of a party pooper and point out that Tacko is just plain slow at the NBA level. That's not exactly earth shattering news but I don't think he'll have much more than a matchup-specific, end of rotation role at his peak.

Off topic - but Grant Williams in the background is a much bigger human than I gave him credit for.
Focus on him for a bit when he's on the floor. Everyone that makes contact with him bounces off. The closest that I have seen to him giving ground was a tie.

That 96th percentile strength stuff was no joke. I'd pay decent money to watch a deadlift contest between Grant and Smart.

Didn't notice that she wrote it, but that's not surprising. Totally agree, she's a great sportswriter.
She's an even better person; graduated from Westwood High School in the same class as her back in 1978, saw her last Summer at our 40th reunion.

Such assholes. Shitty, shitty assholes.
I had a black lab that loved to swim on the South Saskatchewan River. The geese tormented her, bit her chased her etc. She hated them. Once I let her off the leash about 30 yards from the river and she sprinted to the water just because she loved to swim. she came over a small rise and about 50 geese were sunning on the bank and she went full speed into the group and killed a big male befoe it could get airborne. It must have been like her version of 2004.

Because Tacko was recalled from Maine for this game, we've used 1 of the 45 days he's allowed to be on the Celtics roster.
