It is a win for Atlanta, they have some interesting prospects at 1-4, but needed an upgrade at the five, especially on defense. Collins is shooting 35 percent from three so you should be able to play with with Capela. A big piece of Capela's value came from playing with Harden, but Trae is basically mini-Harden at this point so he should still have plenty of lobs to catch.

I'm very skeptical about Houston, it almost seems like arrogance from Morey. He is really going to push small-ball to its breaking point and I would be very concerned about asking PJ Tucker to play 40 extremely physical minutes per game.

Heck, Omari Spellman (currently 39.4% from three on 109 attempts, 81.8% FT) is a nice upgrade over Damian Jones. That was a nice little UTR move by Myers. I wish I could have Spellman's shooting, skills, and toughness in DJ's body, but that guy would be making Capela money.
You're young Wildcats have worked out well. Summer trade fodder or bench mob for the Dubs next run?

BTW if Atlanta wants to unload Damian Jones, the C's would take him over Vincent Poirier

I don't think it is arrogance as much as desperation. They are not winning with Capela so he is going all in on small-ball.

Capela will help erase a lot of Trae and Huerter's awful young defense. Avoiding Drummond also beneficial.

Houston is a Petri dish for the rest of the NBA, it will be interesting to observe from afar. The Celts have (3) PJ Tucker-like players in Smart, Granite and Semi. Morey must have been trying his best to pry those guys from Danny.

I think that's one of Morey's strengths. He doesn't do a lot of wish-casting. ("If only Capela played more like he did last year.....")

I agree. Many GM's would stand pat and try and save their job with a fourth place finish and round or two in the playoffs. I appreciate the willingness to go for it.
