If that wasn’t indicative of the entire night I don’t know what is. A fucking soft lazy play to end it. I’d be peeling paint off the wall if I were Cassidy. Total fucking no show.

Outskated and outworked all night. Are we sure this isn’t an early 2000s series against Montreal?

I’m so pissed. This defense sucks and they couldn’t get anything to the net. They played soft as puppy shit tonight. Totally fucking unacceptable.

Pasta with Krejci, Heinen with Bergy, Kuhlman with Coyle and try again. Resist the Backes urge. Would also consider a D shakeup, 33-25, 48-73, 47-75.

Literally looked as drunk as I am trying to hit the tape with a pass.
The missed passes were bad enough. What kills me is everything was a one shot and done. There was no jam at the net. Everything stayed on the perimeter all night. They didn’t fight through anything. Zero push back.

They really miss Kuraly and maybe even missed Backes tonight. The good news is there are some easy fixes if they’re willing to do the work. Which they’ve done all year.

The two teams played pretty much even in the stats: possession, shots, hits, blocked shots. But the Bruins made mental mistakes — a turnover by a forward at the offensive blue line, an undefended stretch pass — that you just can’t make against a team that is always looking to head up ice with speed.

Be better Saturday.

Sucks that the Bruins got waxed. They will tie up the series on Saturday.

They made a couple of mistakes that ended up in the net. That happens against this team. What’s inexcusable is the lack of fighting to win pucks along the wall and getting to the net.

They honestly didn’t look that bad. Given the playoff format, I’d hope they resist the urge to play into Toronto’s hands and change their game to match up with the Leafs, especially at home.

Aside from Haggerty being an unabashed shithead, thankfully most folks seem to recognize the key saves Tuukka made to keep them in the game. I roll with him in game 2 no questions asked.

Marner being (arguably) a bigger threat than Matthews or Tavares is what I think needs to be addressed. Need Heinen (or Coyle) on the wing defending him IMO, ideally on the Krejci line. Swapping him and Kuhlman is a reasonable measure for game 2 IMO

They were not very aggressive and had trouble connecting on passes to maintain possession.

Outside of a few mistakes, the teams were pretty even. Rask faced a series of breakwaways, and I don’t think the Bruins had a single one. That’s the difference in the game.

It felt a bit like the Montreal Game 1 in 2011. A bit boring game, and they were a bit flat. Hopefully they do better in game 2 than in 2011, but I still feel the Bruins are better. I was encouraged by the third line, and hopefully the top 2 can carry more of the play as the series goes on.
