Coyle on a wing and Heinen on line 4? Blech. Would infinitely prefer this even if it limits the Krejci line's output

Marchand-Bergeron-Pastrnak
Bjork-Krejci-Nordstrom
Frederic-Coyle-Heinen
Lindholm-Kuraly-Wagner

Also not sure why they'd recall Frederic instead of Cehlarik. This looks a hell of a lot better:

Marchand-Bergeron-Pastrnak
Bjork-Krejci-Cehlarik
Lindholm-Coyle-Heinen
Nordstrom-Kuraly-Wagner

I ask the same question every year: why are these boobs called the "Maple Leafs" and not the "Maple Leaves"? I mean, no one ever gets up on a cool day in autumn and says "Honey, I'm going out to rake some leafs!". Robert Plant didn't sing "Leafs are falling around, time I was on my way..." Merely being Canadian is no excuse. Screw these turds and their suck-ass grammar.

B’s have walked right into the slot twice already. Pasta first but he fumbled the puck and then Grz and Marchand.

Guy Carbonneau is a joke of an HOFer
I think there needs to be some room for electing guys who do things that stats struggle to measure, especially in the Pre-advanced stat days. That said, someone (DGB?) wrote a piece in the last day or so showing how Carbonneau’s comparable players are...not great. And that any argument for Guy isn’t as good as the argument for Langenbruner.

Yeah, it was DGB. Langenbruner and Jere Lehtinen probably have a similar or better case than Guy.

As DummyHoy mentions I’m all for honoring guys who are elite at skills that aren’t normally recognized...but Carbonneau isn’t one of those guys.

I vaguely remember staning for Lehtinen over Carbonneau a few months back... but yeah Guy is firmly in the 'hall of very good' and should've been omitted in lieu of either / both of Langenbrunner / Lehtinen by a longshot

Found it!

Here’s the DGB column. 6 active players with interesting cases

Down Goes Brown: Six more active players who’ll make for tricky Hall of Fame debates someday

5 of those cases are really interesting (not Williams).

I’d lean no for everyone but Kovalchuk personally but I’ve got very high standards for HOF election.

I really don’t understand putting Coyle on Krecji’s wing. It’s not working and making their bottom 6 weaker.

He missed the debate to end all debates- Brad Marchand.

edit: also agree that 5 no’s and a yes on Kovalchuk. I may be convinced in Giroux depending on how the rest of his career goes

Oooh that’s a great one. Not yet but another 4-5 years at this level?

Also I think Tuukka has an equal case as Rinne does. And I’d vote no on both.

Yeah. He’s headed to a 4th straight year of a point per game, perhaps a 2nd straight of 100 points where that is rare and is arguably the best at his position (one of DGB’s criteria). He continues on this path he’s in.

High stick here

Any goal review is automatically going against the Bruins. It’s insane.

He’s also an elite PKer and is setting records with SHGs on top of that. Plus the OT GWGs. He’s an interesting case.
