I can't believe how psyched I was for tonight. Damn.I would like a refund on my Wednesday sports night.
Well he should probably play the better goalie to begin with,Hopefully Bruce doesn’t let one bad game affect how he’s going to be used going forward.
Swayman hasn’t exactly been terrible so far to start his career. I think this is literally the first bad night he’s had. It happens. Both goalies should be playing a lot this early in the season.Well he should probably play the better goalie to begin with,
Shit sundae is understating it.Boneheaded penalty is the cherry on the shit sundae
Cassidy has Ullmark in net tomorrowThat game was dumb.
Swayman will be fine, that was his first tough game and he was battling the whole time. Curious to see who goes tomorrow, with it being Ulmark's old team.
The dead animal on his head, however, looks like it's brand new out of the box.Can anyone tell me how old Gretzky is?
edit: 60.. the way he speaks it feels like he's older.
That was a really awful start from Swayman. He allowed 3 goals above expected. Some of it can be chalked up to defensive breakdowns in front of him, but there were stoppable pucks that went in (1st, 3rd, 5th). The team has got to be very careful here. They need Swayman to be a capable backup until January at a minimum. He's been outstanding in his career thus far, and I don't want to over react to one really bad game, but he's had a total of 22 appearances between the AHL and NHL. That is an extremely small sample size and goalies are fickle and weird. This is kind of why the Vladar trade surprised me. Vladar is in the same boat as a young goalie with a small sample but I figured between the two of them odds were they could piece it together until they got to the Rask decision point. Now they don't really have a fall back option if Swayman struggles. That game was dumb.

I think you're selling him low, although your SSS point is a good one and I agree with you that Ullmark should have gotten the start last night. That was a really awful start from Swayman. We'll see how they handle the rotation going forward. I was a little surprised Swayman started last night. I figured they'd split the first two games given the lengthy layoff between the preseason and regular season. In hindsight, I would've preferred starting Ullmark last night and then give Swayman the softer start against Buffalo and then let performance dictate the SJS game.
