As of now, he is scheduled to throw his first live BP tomorrow.
Hopefully he will only miss a couple starts, but we'll see.
With Crawford also out, the starting pitcher depth is going to be needed right away.

On Tuesday, manager Alex Cora announced right-hander Brayan Bello is set to begin the season on the injured list. Bello reported to camp in February with shoulder soreness that delayed his throwing progression. Though he’s been throwing bullpens, he won’t throw his first live batting practice session until Wednesday. Pitchers typically throw at least two live BPs before pitching in at least three spring games.
Seems wise to not push him too much early in the year. The Sox play 20 games in the first 21 days of the season and 36 games in the first 39 days, so hardly any off days early on when pitchers are still building up.“He’s behind, so he’s not going to be with us for Opening Day,” Cora said. “Just doesn’t make sense where he’s at to push him and rush everything and then something major happens.”
Cora said it’s likely Bello will appear in his first game as spring training is ending and after that, barring setbacks, he’s scheduled to be throwing four innings for Triple-A Worcester on a rehab assignment sometime during Worcester’s first series March 28-30.
Bello is expected to rejoin the Red Sox rotation at some point in April.
Hopefully he will only miss a couple starts, but we'll see.
With Crawford also out, the starting pitcher depth is going to be needed right away.
Cora mentioned Richard Fitts, Quinn Priester, Cooper Criswell and Michael Fulmer as the group they’ll lean on for those extra starts. Hunter Dobbins, who was added to the 40-man roster this winter, was optioned to minor-league camp on Tuesday and will start the year in the Triple-A rotation, but figures to be another starting depth arm for the big-league club later in the year.
Over the next two weeks, the Red Sox will determine which starter they’ll slide into the rotation until Bello returns and which will give them extra starts when needed. It’s also likely they’ll keep a long man in the bullpen.
“I think they’re all equal right now,” Cora said, not tipping his hand on which pitcher will make the rotation at the outset. “At one point, obviously, we’ll make decisions based on the performance, their stuff and what we want to see the first few weeks of the season.”
