Oh, I know. I just thought there would a pretense of counter attack.
maybe in time once he has his system in place, but early on vs. Liverpool with this dubious talent he's just going to close shop, try to keep it to 2 or less and wait for Leeds to try for points

There’s no point in playing for 0 points. He’s 1-0 down they have to try to level it or else what’s the point

Try to stay in the game then with 15 mins to go and make some subs and go for a point. I've seen managers give post match interviews and state as much but in more managerial speak.

He's playing to keep his GD from getting worse. IF he can keep it to 1 until the 75th or 80th minute he'll try to equalize.

Charlie Austin is such an Allardyce player.

Edit- lol, just saw that WBA has more shots on target in this match than Liverpool.

Knew it was coming off an unforced corner

I'm stunned there's been no Shaqiri - this is the exact setup his skillset can breakdown

Love the idea that a club like the baggies, who are just up from the championship, with a season of turmoil and a new manager should go on the road against a club with a 1000x the wage bill, in the middle of a 5 year program, a roster filled with ballon d’or candidates and should play a certain style of football to suit the “beauty” of the game.

And I have to watch Tony Pulis coach a shitty team every week and it sucks sucks sucks...but it’s hysterical when it works and people cry.

Best part of football (well, one of them anyways) is the variance of styles. And WBA had more shots on target with their BS style :fonz:

Yeah I have no problem with how WBA set up - it's literally the only way they can get a result out of games like this. If Klopp doesn't want to use the myriad tools at his disposal earlier in the match like Shaqiri, Oxlade-Chamberlain, even Minamino to get more breathing room, that's on him.

WBA went more positive in the second half out of necessity, but if they set up like that in the first half, it's 3-0 or 4-0 at the break.

This season is really shaping up to a champion in the 82-85 points range. It's hard to see anyone pulling away with the league wide fatigue/fixture congestion. Matip with a groin injury is of greater import. When is Milner back?

Milner was an unused sub today, he's healthy. Still can't get over him / Shaqiri not being introduced earlier after the 30th ineffective cross at 1-0, but it is what it is

You thought you saw bus parking with Big Sam, wait till you see Jose running a 3-5-2 with no natural wingers AND he's given a 1-0 lead in the first minute.

Yeah, my model is showing an average of about 85 points for the league winner.

This is the kind of game those of us who have been stanning for Ndombele for years have been waiting for.

His run to set up Reguilon would have been talked about all season if Reggie didn't hit it straight at the keeper.

Winks is on a yellow and has been terrible while Ndombele has been the best player on the pitch so of course Mou brings on Sissoko for Ndombele and leaves Winks on.
