Thoughts on Charlie McAvoy's sprained MCL? They said they're evaluating in 4 weeks, which will be 7-10 days before the playoffs start. Is that a reasonable time for him to return, or are they more likely to announce that he'll be (n) weeks out from skating?

For a grade 1-2 sprain 4 weeks should be a good timeframe for him to start getting eased back into game action

He had a wire taken out, which is part of the fixation construct we use to fix patella fractures. It actually goes around the bone, not through it, so it should be a pretty quick recovery and hopefully alleviate his issues moving forward. I’d estimate he’d be back full go in about four weeks

Any thoughts on the Hayward surgery? Everything was "fine" and progressing and then this happened. Was it planned or a minor setback so let's remove hardware so it doesn't become major?
Not sure its a setback, but the globe report on Hayward said that the plate and screws were removed because they were irritating his tendons. Doesn't sound like having them removed now was part of the original plan.

Yahoo said that this irritation may have been the reason that any thought of a postseason return were scuttled.

Hey DRS - happy summer! If you're around, would you care to share a thought or two about R Williams' arterial condition?

I've also got $10 saved up to get a better understanding of Sony MIchel getting his knee drained. What injury/condition is that associated with? Does it get better, or is this a procedure likely to be needed again a time or two as the season goes on?

[If I only get one question for my $10, go with the second one.]

I'm sure he actually had a knee scope, probably for a meniscus tear. He wouldnt' be out for a month-plus if he just had his knee drained. That would be more like a week.

So this was interesting...

@MikeGiardi Looks to me like Brady has a meniscus tear - asymptomatic for periods but tweak it just right and it will take you down/make you pull off the leg. If that’s the case it will be an issue until the off-season when he can get it scoped

DRS, any thoughts on Isaiah Wynn and Demaryius Thomas coming back from torn Achilles? Timing is different. Wynn tore his in August and Thomas tore his in late December. Thank you!
