Need to foul under 5 seconds! Argh....

Bowman sucked ass tonight. Providence is a good squad. This would have been a very nice win.

Disappointing game to lose. Bowman was (and honestly has been most of the year), pretty lousy. Right now he is probably the most overrated player in college basketball. Hopefully he will get his mojo back.

Obviously losing 25 min, 10-15 points, 6 boards, and strong interior defense from Popvic is pretty devastating, especially where JCR is beyond useless, and Luka is pretty close to useless.

Tabbs had a weird night, his numbers weren't great, but not awful, but the team got dominated when he was on the floor tonight

Good news is Hamilton continues to get better every time out, and we can stop the talk of him being a disappointment already. No he isn't a superstar Frosh, but he sure looks like he is a more than competent rotation big man this year

The officiating in that overtime was brutally bad, in fact, watching college bb generally the officials seem to be calling every touch foul in every game. Is there some point of emphasis this year that games are to be called much more tightly. It's ruining what are great games. BC has no one to blame but itself, definitely should have closed this out in regulation.

Agreed. We shot 45 FTs so can’t complain but those calls were just bad.

Right, I'm definitely not blaming the loss on the officials, but the frequency of calls was just terrible. The teams were battling great and the refs allowed zero flow to the game

Couldn't agree more. There were like 80 FTA in the game last night. C'mon. That isn't fun for anyone.

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Due to mechanical and logistical issues with its charter aircraft and unsafe flying conditions due to weather throughout the southern United States on Friday, Dec. 7, the Boston College men's basketball team was unable to travel to Texas for its game on Saturday evening at Texas A&M.

Boston College had asked Texas A&M for contingency plan to move the game from 5 pm CT to 9 pm CT on Saturday night and were open to all playing options on Sunday, Dec. 9. Texas A&M declined both of those offers. As a result, Texas A&M announced that tonight's game has been cancelled.

Didnt watch yesterday, but there were two glaring things in the box score: First and foremost was Herron busting out in a big way. And then for the second time this year, the bench literally came up with a goose egg. Getting Chatman back will help deepen the rotation of course. When does Hamilton's older brother become eligible? Hopefully he can add some meaningful minutes from the bench.

I haven't had a chance to see him play much in Chestnut Hill, but those Herren numbers are impressive. I really didn't think he'd contribute that much this year (or even next year) based on the very SSS of watching him play in HS. The skills were there, but he didn't really dominate the way one would have thought he would. Glad to see him playing so well.

Yup. He's already done more than everyone else on the bench. There is real potential for a solid 4 year bench contributor here. I'm ready to cut the cord on the Vin Baker Jr experience. He just doesn't belong at this level.

Really nice win against DePaul today. On the road, right before Christmas, trailing the entire game, they could easily have packed it in and headed home for the holidays. Especially after missing 14 threes in a row. Instead they fought hard and hit some big shots and took it away in the last few minutes.

Looks like Jared Hamilton will add some meaningful depth, and Herren continues to prove that he's legit. They showed a segment during a TO from earlier in the week where Christian gave all the players Xmas gifts, and Herren's was an official scholarship. Very cool moment for him.

Yeah big win, would ave been a pretty painful loss, but great to steal a win on the road on a day where they struggled pretty badly with their shot. Nico kept them in the game for the first 35 minutes as the only one who could put the ball in the net. And then Tabbs flat stole the game the last 2 minutes.

Jared Hamilton is after one game probably the best defensive player the Eagles have had since Skinner. The stats didn't show it, but he should have had 2 or 3 blocks, and really made some huge plays down the stretch

Can this team win 9 ACC games? Probably not but possible. Definitely looking like a surefire NIT team at least.

I'm putting both Hamilton brothers on the All-Time BC Physique team. Jared starts with Malcom Huckaby in the backcourt, with Jairus, Craig Smith, and Uka Agbai up front.

A Jimmy Christian special again - up 3 at the end they screw up another end of game situation and lose in OT to a 6-8 Hartford team.

Given how the AD loves mediocre coaches, JC will probably be signing an extension any day but he is just bad.

I’m officially done with this loser. His teams routinely fail to get up against crappy opponents.

So, this was overall an encouraging game. We sorely need Tabbs in ACC play, and need Mitchell/Chatman to be healthy again to give us a better chance to stay with these teams.

BC got hit with a comical number of ticky-tack fouls in the second half. On the that fouled Herren out, the game was decided but every BC player threw their arms up in collective disbelief. When Herren got back to the bench, instead of Christian yelling at the refs, he visibly mimicked correct defensive posture for Herren to watch. A small moment, but I found it telling that Christian decided to go for a showy bit of coaching instead of backing up his guys and going to bat with the refs after getting shafted all half. It sure looked like Herren played defense on that play exactly how Christian was demonstrating it.

Yeah the second half officiating was insane. Va Tech is the better team especially without Tabbs, and with Mitchell playing at 50%.

My favorite call was a rebound where Mitchell was battling the Va Tech Center. The Va Tech center was physically leaning on Mitchell trying to push him out, the rebound went to the other side, so Mitchell backed away, causing the Va Tech Center to fall on his ass. Instead of a rebound and a break for BC, it was a loose ball foul on Mitchell. There was a timeout after and Christian was clearing trying to get an explanation on that one. The was nother one where the Va Tech Center grabbeb Pop and threw him out of bounds taking the rebound away, needless to say no call on that. But they did manage to call 2 on Pop where nothing happened.

Anyway the continued injuries are just such a disappointment

wow. y'all got hosed on that block call
Yup, Ultimate screw job.

Team didn't play well for the first 32 minutes, and could have should have don't more. But the game was not decided by the Players. BC players made the plays down the end to win the game. No doubt about it. . the officials Screwed them on an epic level, just absolutely embarrassing, the ACC should be ashamed of what happened and should issue and apologyh

I should have posted that sooner. They went on a 16-0 run after I posted it to make things interesting

Good win even though FSU is overrated. Missed most of the game (have to save my eyes for 7 hours of NFL) , but shocked to find them up double digits earlier.

Big comeback as well,as FSU was up double digits for a long stretch in the first half.

Deiffernt game when you actually have your best players on the court. Such a shame this year was destroyed by injuries

BC's got all their scholarship guys healthy now, tide could turn for them somewhat the rest of the season.

My guess is, given it's a Leonard Hamilton team, that BC had an edge in this game in court sense.

BC with a hard fought win today, missing Wynston Tabbs.

Niko Popovic was immense and carried the offense, with Chatman having a hot shooting game. Bowman struggled badly, but was about to make a bit of a circus 3 pointer with 16 seconds to go.

Next up ND, and they need to find a way to play 40 min this time

It was a terrible possession as far as executing a play goes, but Bowman made the shot to bail them out. This is the type of game they've been losing, but WF helped them out with 16 turnovers and 5/23 from 3, so it's good to get one their way for a change.

Sure would be nice to get everyone healthy

What's with the turnout tonight? I remember the days Conte would be electric when the Cuse visited.
I remember the days when Roberts Center would be electric when the Cuse visited. Most of the games lately could be played there again (capacity 4,400).

You're not gonna win many games when the other team shoots 56% from the field. We have nobody that can guard Battle. He smoked us last year too.

Hope MJ has the guts to actually make a move. Seriously, not much more to say about this team. They can't concentrate for 40 minutes collectively. The Tabbs injury has been killer, but that's not an excuse. Teams that are missing good players can at least hang their hat on defensive intensity and we have none of that currently. JC to me lacks the capacity for reinvention and will continue to throw the same losing strategies out there, expecting different results. The only question is whether MJ will act.

Does anyone have thoughts on why Mitchell is so invisible on offense? He is a crucial player to have on the court but we need him to command attention from defenses. It seems mental with him, I hope Christian has tried to get him to be more aggressive as that could open up a lot of good shots for everyone.

Tabbs being out (and injured when he did play some) is not an excuse, but then again he was the second best player on the team, and in the last t handful of games before the injury he was their best player most nights. It is not an excuse to be this thin at this point, but how many teams aren;t significantly impacted by losing their second best player for 2 months (and counting)

In terms of Mitchell it is surprising, He is basically the equivalent of a baseball player with Steve Blass syndrome, he is deep inside his own head when he has the ball on offense,

Playyed Duke tough for a half tonight and then just blown out.

I agree with you about Tabbs, no doubt. He is a difference maker. I don't mean to hold it against Christian but he is consistently slow to respond to adversity. You could look at it where he deserves credit for even keeping the team in the game for most of these ACC games without Tabbs and have a legitimate point; like tonight I didn't expect a halftime lead.

Time after time against the lesser teams they just seem like winnable games that we let go of down the stretch, and in five years none of his teams have really overperformed in conference. He's also had a lot of bad luck with transfers and injuries, and it's frustrating.

The biggest issue is recruiting. Most if not all of the other ACC teams are getting at least one four star recruit every year. We've had 1 in the last ten years (and at this point I seriously question Hamilton's rating). Its really tough to compete when you're so far behind talent-wise. And that is not just a Jim Christian issue. For whatever reason BC just isnt attractive to big time players.

I think we know exactly the reason. We get like 5 fans / game and students could care less about basketball. Christian has actually recruited pretty well given the limitations and has done far better than Donahue did. Unfortunately, the results haven't been there.
