They are a couple of plays away from being on a three game winning streak. They played smart and tough on both sides of the ball. How could the Bears lose that badly at home, their skill players are light years better than ours?

The Bears looked really bad. I was shocked. Before the game they were taking on the radio about how the Pats are top 10 in the league in blitz percentage, but near the bottom of the league in sacks / QB pressures / etc. I don’t remember the exact stats but basically, before today, the Pats have been really, really ineffective at putting pressure on the other team’s QB (some of that might be a factor or playing from behind a lot while other teams can just run the ball).

Anyway, and then they go out and record 9 sacks! That must have like doubled their season total. Incredible.

This. I hope at the end of the season this team looks back to the Jags game in London as the low point, and then Jacoby and now Drake Maye have the team going forward again.

But let’s not overdo it - still need a ton of new players from the draft.

Strong D today! And 1st half Drake gets a game ball.

Drake played mediocre today, but showed a lot of progress and had some great plays.
His interception was one of the worst I have ever seen. And he made another throw that could have been picked in the end zone. And he did make some very good plays. So, I agree with the mediocre characterization.

He certainly looked more adjusted to the NFL game than Caleb WIlliams (who has a cannon) did.

Caleb is getting a lot of flak, rightfully so, but he does have a few 300 yard games with 65+ percent completion percentage. The arm talent is there. His coaching and line have been awful. He might be a bust, but not sure we’re at that point yet.

edit: to stay on topic

1. defense
2. Coaching

I would not call him a bust. But he looks like very much a work in progress. Someone who cannot go through progressions and get the ball out quickly... yet. I like Caleb's frame and arm better (although I don't mean to say I don't like those things about Maye). But for now, at least, Maye sees the field better and has great touch on some of his shorter throws.

No disagreement from me. But for a guy who supposedly sees the field better, he’s made some WTF throws too. These guys are so young and early in their careers you just hope to see growth. I think Caleb is better served in terms of weapons but both have poor lines and questionable coaching.

Yeah, he was kinda meh today, but it was against the #1 pass defense in the league.

He said postgame the INT was him trying to throw the ball away and just not doing a good job of it. He's totally rifling one into the stands next week,

The left-handed throw away was...fuck it, that was awesome.

I really like that the staff dialed up an easy TD for Polk. He had no other targets, but that is gonna help him.

Since Maye took over the Pats lead the NFL in red zone percentage.

Well, before today's FG fest, but still.

Whoever made the decision to leave Onwenu at RG
Whoever made the decision to use Schooler as a spy on Caleb

Schooler, Hooper and the DL stepped up. Everyone else held up. Only 1 more win to equal last year with 7 games to play!

I have shit in the coaching staff this year and they deserve a game ball today. They had them prepared. Not sure if that is more of an inditment on the bears coaching staff but still good going to give them credit. Very exited to watch the remainder of the year and Drake Maye’s development, which is more than I can say for last year’s season.

Wait until he pulls out another one of these:

He was a guard in high school basketball, and some of his passing went viral on social media. I think that must be where the left handed thing comes from.

Pharms was an absolute monster today blowing up play after play. And Boutte and Pop both look like NFL caliber receivers, if they add a legit #1 next offseason combined with Henry that could be a very good receiving room.

The DL – Pharms, Keion White, Wise Jr.
Spy Schooler
Boutte (edit to ADD: Austin Hooper!)
Pass pro overall
AVP/Covington/Mayo

All of that said, Marcus Jones gets my top GAME BALL. Good coverage, solid tackling, seemed to be everywhere...and the punt returns. Dynamic, reliable. I LOVE this kid.

Honorable Mention: DRAKE MAYE. I know, I know. This performance constituted a mediocre game for Maye, but he looked mostly smooth in directing the offense – that is SUCH a good sign. I love how he responded to the INT and the slow/unproductive part of the game. He shook it off. I always feel confident with him leading the team...and excited that anything can happen.

Jennings has consistently shown up and has become one of the best players on defense. One of Wolf’s rare good moves was locking him up for a few more years

I'm with WMOB on Maye. I thought he was pretty good. Yeah, that interception was terrible, but knowing now that he meant to throw it out of bounds -- he surely has the arm strength to reach OOB, so that won't happen again.
