Anyone else here at Coral Gables? Even more apathy then at Chestnut Hill

And why is their mascot a duck (Canes)?

Uggggh

Such a poorly coached team

And what makes it worse, on the other side, Larranaga isn't even standing. But Lykes and teammates know what to do.

Inspired me to finally look up why Tulsa is the Golden Hurricanes, given that Oklahoma doesn't have them.

"
The team opened the season and it was apparent that Tulsa was going to have a great year, and trying to seize some publicity for his team, Acher wanted to find a new nickname quickly.
After a remark was made in practice one day about "roaring through opponents," and because of their new jersey colors, he thought of Golden Tornadoes. However, he quickly found out that the name had been taken by Georgia Tech a few years earlier. From the tornado, he evolved meteorologically to the hurricane. A few days before the team left for a game against Texas A&M, Acher asked the squad to vote on the name, and thus "Golden Hurricane" was born."

Seems like they’ve been alternating wins and losses for past month. JC has probably saved his job with this stretch. Not enthused by it but it’s almost certainly a reality.

Oh dear god be true
While he is no doubt a good coach - he is 67. I’d probably still be in favor of it as a BC fan (and as an ACC fan) but he won’t be there long haul. Then again if they hired the next Brad Stevens he wouldn’t be there too long either I suppose.

11 years and counting with no NCAA birth after nearly annual visits. Age is not a concern of mine.

Where are the rumblings coming from?

Do you see based on what Beilein was making at Michigan, BC paying their basketball coach 2.5 million? I do not. They don't care about basketball that much.

Another from the MAAC.

A member of the league's most underachieving team the past 3 years - Rider. Full man-sized kid that can play inside and out - efficient. Kind of an easygoing flow to his game. After his frosh season, he looked like a guy that might dominate the league... but turned out to be one of several talented pieces that never quite fit together. Good, but not great. He might be better for BC.

It's another nice piece. Scott from what I have heard is a kid who's talent outpaces his game, but still has been a good and productive player. Will probably be a frustrating player at times, but still helps the team. At worst he comes in and replaces Hamilton, and seems like he is much more of team guy than Hamilton was.

If they can get a good big, and they are going hard after that, then it becomes an interesting team. Obviously a lot will depend on getting their best player back, and in what shape he is in (Tabbs), but at least they have done a good job of building the backcourt so there are players and depth even if Tabbs return is limited

Honestly BC has always been my other college team after Marquette (my school only played at the club level). But they don't exactly pack the joint...

Disappointed they couldn't hold onto the lead, but good effort nonetheless against a good team. Good rebounding, especially in first half. Some great under the basket inbounding plays. There's hope. Good to have Tabbs back.

Team is clearly better talent-wise but they still play a very dumb brand of basketball. Don’t think there’s enough perimeter shooting, as always.

It's typical Jim Christian stuff. Team plays unimaginably stupid ball down the stretch. It's really on the edge of unwatchable because you know how it ends, with good old Jim standing on the sideline with that confused look on his face.
