Roslinsdales Terrence Clarke, the #3 recruit in the country, is expected to pick between Kentucky and BC tomorrow. I've heard that it's much closer than national writers are saying, he apparently really wants to put BC on the map.

That said, no fucking way he picks BC lol.

Clarke was at the football game last night according to the internet. That should just about seal the deal. Not that we ever had much of a chance, but man, BC just can't help shooting itself in the foot at every opportunity.

Better weekend for the Hoops team this time as they receive a commitment from Demarr Langford. Langford is not considered much of a shooter (like his brother), but is a strong athlete who can get to the hoop and is considered a very good defender. Best local recruit in a couple decades

Right now the last big recruit BC is in on for 20/21 is Carter Whitt, current a 2021 player, but who like Terrance Clarke has talked about reclassifying into 2020. Whitt was on Campus last week, but have seen nothing written about him since.

It's really really sad that BC hasn't had a top 100 NE recruit between Curley and young Langford

They also signed a 7 footer, Justin Vander Baan, who played on the same AAU team as Langford. Not a big time recruit, but from what I could find he's described as a mobile big man with good hands who needs to get stronger. Sounds like a bit of a project, but I did see a writeup that compared him to Popovich. If he turns out as good as Popovich that would certainly be a good addition.

I'm expecting nothing this year. They desperately need Jarius Hamilton to develop into the player he was projected to be coming out of HS. He needs to take a big leap from what we saw last year.
If by some chance he does develop, and if Tabbs comes back healthy and if Langford is for real maybe they'll be at least decent next year. Lots of "ifs" there . . .

Nice conference win against Wake to start the season. They have an interesting mix of experience and youth between USC transfer Thornton, senior Popovic, and freshman Heath.

Let's not kid ourselves, they're going nowhere because they're BC, but at least things might be interesting.

It’s too bad that Tabbs is out. Hamilton is looking like a 4 star bust.

I get it on Tabbs, this team would be really good with Tabbs.

What did Hamilton do in the 8 minutes he played before injuring himself that made him look like a bust. I will admit I missed much of the early part of the game, and had to wath the final 30 min or so on my phone on a train. From what I have read in other spots people seemed to be fairly happy with the way he played.

I do think it is possible Hamilton never reaches BC fans expectations, but I suspect he'll play 25 min a night this year, and probably average 8+ points, and will likely average 10+ points a night as an upperclassmen, and yes for some BC fans may consider that a bust.

I just don’t see the b-ball IQ with him. 8 minutes is obviously a small sample so I’m just projecting a bit here but there’s something missing with him that I can’t put my finger on. He won’t be completely useless or anything, and probably will be a solid contributor, so “bust” isn’t a fair label. But I thought we were getting a much better player.

Not the cleanest game, but they went from 9 down in the middle of the first half to 11 up at Halftime, and then were never actually threatened in the second half.

28 turnovers is pretty ugly, but beating a decent team on the road when you commit 28 turnovers is pretty impressive.

Good news is they have 3 Freshman who can play legit at this level now. This also means they suddenly have a legit 8 man rotation when everyone is healthy. They also play the best defense BC has seen in more than a decade.

I know there will be nights where an ugly performance leads to an ugly night. and some nights where they play well, and the other team is better, but this team if they can stay healthy should be a really fun team to watch this year

Jim Christian is somehow a worse coach than Donahue. What a pathetic hire he was.

Well they pulled it out, but Christian should not be allowed back on the plane for how he handled those last 5 minutes. ND's missed free throw saved BC from certain and well-deserved ridicule. The inbounding problems brought me back to the Skinner era, except more incompetent.

True. Evidently BC has no inbounds plays for pressure, and can't do anything better against a zone than attempt a 25 footer. They also don't know not to foul at half court in the last 30 seconds when up by 5 points

Christian should probably be gone anyway, but they played last night with at most 4 players who would even be on the roster of most power conference schools, and some guy I've never even heard of played 27 minutes and I've watched most of their games this year.

Isn't that even more of an indictment on Christian? Unless he wants to go all Daz on youth and injuries.
Not the youth part but the best player from last years team went to the NBA and the 2nd 3rd and 4th best are all currently injured, I don't think any coach would have a chance with the roster they put out last game. Long term it's an indictment that he hasn't had more (or really much of any) team success, short term there's really nothing he can do with the players he has right now.

We’re in Year 6 of JC and I’m not convinced his full team does better than .500 in a weak ACC

How many college teams can compete with their 11-14th men combining for 91 minutes of game action. Two walkons had to play 46 minutes.

The one that is on Christian from that group is the Junior Luka Krajlevic who has been a complete bust. They needed him to develop into a solid rotational 18-20 minute a game type of guy.

The injuries have killed BC. He also missed pretty badly by bringing in the 5th year guard Thornton

If healthy I do think this team would have been better than 500 in conference. Tabbs was an impact player

Just a heart breaker against Pitt

Hard to overstate that one. Hard to overstate that impact on this year's team, but at the same time, Christian has been here for at least 5 years and at some point games like tonight take their toll. Jarmond's football hire gives me hope that we can do better in basketball. I follow the BB team more than the FB team to begin with so I'm really hopeful that we can turn things around. We clearly can recruit good players but need to maximize them in their ACC years.

This team is starting to show a bit of what we thought they could be before they were decimated by injuries. Hopefully they can stay as healthy as they can be the rest of the year and who knows, maybe they can steal 5 and 1 in the tournament and sneak into the NIT. I'd love to see them get that chance.

BC got one call on the day, but it came at a very good time

BC still in this at home against Duke. Even when the crowd is in it something about Conte's design never makes it truly loud. Both sports.

EDIT: BC turning it over constantly and Duke pulling away.

Was in the building. BC played really well on D. Thornton had some brilliant moments but also plays out of control and gets caught in the air too much. Place got fairly loud a few times. Baker and Delaurier were key for Duke.

What an amazing win today

Starting C doesn't make the trip. Backup C gets injured early in second half. 30 minute a game 6th man gets hurt/sick an can't play in the second half. Starting 3 man fouls out late. team misses a couple of FT that could have ended the game late in regulation.

BC falls behind 5 points to start OT, not down the 3rd string Center as well. BC comes back to win it 77-73

Steff Mitchell was amazing 21 pts, 15 boards, 6 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal, 0 turnovers.

Kamari Williams came off the deep bench to score 8 points, and play solid defense especially in the zone.

Jay Heath was huge

Best game of Mitchell's career. On top of tying career highs in both points and rebounds he made two 3s and went 9-11 from the line (as a 52% ft shooter going into the game) including 2 that iced it in OT. They needed it, as Thornton was 2-12 from the field with several turnovers. Oh, and Christian used his last timeout with over 6 min left in reg, so they had that going for them . . .
