Is there any chance that Robinson chooses to leave after this year and turn pro? I don't know anything about his background and whether he's happy at BC, but putting up 46 is impressive, as is leading the ACC in scoring.

What a gratifying win over Miami. Robinson is a star. He makes the right play every single time. Selfishly, I hope that he would benefit from returning for his senior year, but he has to be on radar screens now.

An aside: love seeing Danny Ainge in the crowd at local college games.

I thought Bowman was a bigger factor today but both he and Robinson were awesome. Mitchell is the type of guy BC always has when they’re dangerous, he contributed a bunch of key plays. Wouldn’t have been so close if Popovic could catch. Conte was rocking.

BC gets Pitt who hasn’t won an ACC game yet this year and then ND at home. If they win both of those they will be 7-7 in the ACC and could put themselves back in the tourney discussion a little bit no?

Quite possibly. Although they then have a tough stretch of 3 road games out of their last 4 against NC State, Miami and FSU. Plus one home game against Cuse. A 2-2 split of those games might be tough, but it’s doable. I would also think they would then need at least 2 wins in the ACC tournament to solidify their case though.

Does Deontae Hawkins have a year of eligibility left or did his injury happen too late?
He would have to petition the NCAA for a medical redshirt. It is complicated, but it is a real longshort, and of course a question as to whether he would even want one

Bad first half against a terrible Pitt team, but a good last 25 minutes for a 23 point win.

JR is just insanely good right now. He is shooting an incredible percentage in league play, and you know every team they play is doing everything they can to limit him, as he is the only real playmaker BC has right now. (Bowman is having a brutal offensive year, and is really struggling driving to the hoop). JR midrange game is remarkable

So if BC goes 3-2 down the stretch and then wins 2 conference tourney games do they find themselves on the bubble? They would be 21-13 overall and 9-9 in ACC conference play.

Yes. Going .500 in the ACC and especially making noise in the tournament is a big achievement (for any team) that would get noticed. I still don't think they'd get in, but honestly everything right now is gravy. I'm having such a blast watching these guys play.

Robinson is playing some incredible basketball this year. He has to be on nba teams radars.
He has been great this year and should absolutely go pro if he can be a 1st rounder. The game has clicked for him. Selfishly, I hope he’s back next year with Bowman and Hamilton/Tabbs. That team would have Sweet 16 potential.

That was bad, Bowman needed to be more under control and then it went to shit after he fouled out.
Leaving your garbage bigs in the game when they had to foul was a stroke of genius. End of the day, 14-25 from the line and Bowman’s late turnovers killed us. Really bad loss.

This game was all on Bowman (again), I guess it is the nature of being a PG. Last 3 possessions he was involved with.

2:20 BC up 9 . Ky dribbles up top for 15+ seconds doesn't involve anyone else into the play then as the clock is about to expire he drives to the hoop and throws up a prayer.
1:54 BC up 9, Ky gets pocket picked, and commits bonehead foul on the layup
1:28 BC up 5 Ky is slow on the press, and runs over Lykes.

Just a heartbreaking loss for the team. BC didnt have much choice but to leave Luka in the game at the end as he was the best guy they had left on the Bench after their star PG decided to go all Forrest Gump

I do have to question Christian on the fact that Robinson scored with around 2:40 to play in the game, and basically touched the ball one posession in the last 2:40. And that was the pass into Pop down low. I think that is a bit on Robinson as well as he seemed to keep running to space, rather than trying to go back to the ball

As long as there aren't too many upsets in the one-bid conferences, I would think they'd get invited. Would they bring a decent crowd to NYC if they went that far..or is the interest not there any more?

Nic win today against GT. Ky filled up the stat sheet, a bit too much on the turnover side .

Pop with a big performance, lots of minutes and very efficient

Bowman is on fire.

If only 2 of those ACC games went differently at the end, this could be an NCAA team

That's a killer. He has been playing fantastic recently.

Edit: I'm going to backtrack on that and give these guys the benefit of the doubt. Their self-confidence seems to be very high no matter whom it is on the team. Even Meznieks came in the FSU game balling out after not scoring since November. Let's see what we can do with a little more adversity.

Huh? This is a BC thread. I like BC - look at the BC thread here and in years past. Always root for them outside of playing Duke. Troy Bell baby

Yes! They can take Clemson, only lost to them by 4 last time.

Hey 2 days ago some people did not think that BC was even worthy of a NIT bid. Clemson is beatable and then who knows? This has definitely been a surprising and enjoyable season.

They are going to need the auto bid. Beating NC State gets them into the NIT.

I think they need to get to the finals to even be in the discussion for the NCAA's. That will get them to 20 wins and 11 overall wins in the ACC. Their RPI is 91 and KenPom is 74. Only 2 road wins all year and they are at Hartford and Pitt. For comparisons sake, Nebraska is on the bubble and they have a KenPom of 56 and RPI of 61.

Small quibble. If BC reaches the ACC Final, they will have won 21 games. They have 19 now. I don’t think a finals appearance will be enough anyways. They were likely to be in the NIT before today but this clinched that bid, at least.

They lost @ UVA by 1. That's better than almost any "road win" in the country. If they beat them in the Semis (if they get there first and foremost), those 2 games plus the win v. Duke at home, plus the Miami win at home, plus the 1 pt loss @ Miami, plus 21 total wins, gets them in.

Zero chance of an at-large bid. They'd be the worst RPI team ever to make the tournament, by like 20 spots.
I look at RPI sometime, and it just makes no sense. (looking at real time RPI, which I can only assume is a steaming pile of crap)

I just looked at Northeastern vs BC. Northeastern does have a RPI 27 slots higher as I type this.

Northeastern signature wins are against Vermont and Bucknell, neither in the top 50, and have lost every other game they played against top 90 teams, with a win against #95 William and Mary. . They also have terrible losses to Drexel (245) and Utah St (168)

BC on the other hand worst losses were against ND (#70), and most of their losses are against top 50 teams. BC has wins against #4, #26, 39, and a few more top 100 teams. That does even factor the 1 point loss to #1, etc.
