I've thought about that device for my grandson also. If I lived closer and could work with him (I don't see him working with it without encouragement) I would get one. This thing here(I wish I knew how to turn words to links)is very cool too. http://www.zepp.com/

Question:

For 10-11 yr old pitchers, I want to get a couple of those resistance bands for shoulder and arm exercises. What is the proper resistance to use? 10 lb? 20? Higher?

Thank you.

For 10 and 11 yr olds I would stick to low resistance. Equivalent to maybe a 3 lb weight. Tennis can full of sand works well on the cheap. There is some really god info on weighted baseball's being better than bands so may be worth looking into.

I noticed this quote on that page

IMPORTANT UPDATE on our thoughts about the Insider Bat (as of June 2011):

We changed our stance on hitting since this review and no longer think Down & Through and being short to the ball is the way to go. At this time, I probably wouldn't purchase this because it teaches a short Area of Impact and leading with the hands (or a more upper body dominated swing). We believe the hips lead the way and the arms should be fairly tight to the body at Impact. The Insider Bat does the opposite.

The insider bat allows the batter to get instant feedback as to how "correct" their swing is evidenced by a line drive, grounder, or, pop up...I probably doesn't encompass all the aspects of a proper swing but offers a good fundamental.

Thanks. I had heard about it before but I'll take more of a look at it.
