Is there a sequence of magical keys I can hit on a laptop to disable the keyboard when my 1 year old comes up and starts typing on it?  If not, anyone have a malware proof program they can recommend.  I tried downloading one and it had malware.

Assuming we're not dealing with a Mac:

If your anti-virus is detecting this as containing malware...get a better A/V.... you can check this tiny program here:
https://www.virustotal.com/

One out of 54 A/V programs thinks this contains malware...and that one is wrong.  It's not unusual for some A/v programs to report as malware something that's doing something 'unusual' and trying to kill the keyboard would fall squarely into that category.

If it is a Mac (and I would assume you can do the same thing on a Windows machine), just activate your screen saver whenever you leave your laptop and have it set to require a password to shut it off.

This is probably the simplest and best answer, and is good practice anyway.
