I don't usually understand the objection to various uniforms. Basically, who cares? But these all-white unis are the stupidest things: you can't read the special player's nicknames b/c white on white doesn't read. For a look, go to mlbn, which is currently carrying a couple of games, including Atlanta v. NY.
The white on white lettering is bad, but I think overall the all black unis are worse. I don't know why, but the only monochrome unis (pants and jerseys) that have ever looked right to me are all white and all grey. Anything else offends my eyes.

Pretty hard to follow the highlight shows when all games look exactly the same.
Agreed. What makes it more confusing as I'm watching Quick Pitch this morning is that is seems some home teams are wearing the all blacks, while others are wearing the all-whites. So even using on screen clues like which team is listed on top of the on-screen box score isn't always helpful. Watching the Rays-Orioles highlights right now, and the Rays are in white at Camden Yards. Took me a second to figure out how a white uni scored but the O's still had no runs.

The all blacks were fine but agree with others. The all whites are awful as you can’t see any of the lettering. Who thought white letters on white jerseys was a good idea?

Indians down to their last strike, down 8-5, and Franmil Reyes hits a 3 run HR to tie it, going to the 10th now. Ian Kennedy had only given up 3 HRs all season, 2 in that inning.

And KC hits a HR in the top of the 10 and closes it out, 9-8. Sorry FFA.

I don't question Francona's moves often, but using Phil Maton today was asinine. He has no business doing anything but mopping up innings in games that are 5+/- runs and the bullpen hadn't been overworked so there was no reason for it.

Trevor Bauer lasted 3 innings today in 9-8 loss to the Pirates. He drops to 1-3, 7.62 since being traded to the Reds.

the Nats finished off an impressive sweep of the Cubs at Wrigley. they are 4 games up on WC1.

if that holds comfortably, Scherzer will have plenty of time to be prepared for a WC game at home, as daunting a task for an opposing team in a one-game playoff as it gets. then if they win, and the Nats split in LA, Scherzer would be looming for game 3...

the Royals are going to end up using position pitchers for 3 innings, after their shitty staff gave up 15 to the A's in the first 6 innings.

With Strasburg pitching the NLDS opener in LA.

Gerrit Cole just gave up his first hit of the season (to Jesus Aguilar) in the 7th inning or later (actually all of the PAs were in the 7th inning, he hasn't pitched in the 8th yet this year). Hitters were 0-33 with 3 BBs and a .000/.083/.000 line

Edit: All of MLB from the 7th inning on hits .247/.323/.422. Can't get a split of that by starting pitchers only.

In comparison, Justin Verlander is .162/.195/.432 in 77 PAs.

Orioles pitcher Richard Bleier came in and threw 13 pitches, giving up 4 hits and 3 runs, while recording only one out.

After being yanked, pitching coach Flores challenged him to go down into the tunnel. Bleier emerged a few moments later, with Flores audibly screaming after him, “FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU!”

What a time to be an Oriole.

TB's Colin Poche had walked 7 guys all season coming into today, 38 innings pitched.

Today he walked 5 guys while only getting two outs and just walked in the tying and go-ahead runs, 5-4 Astros in the 5th now.

Twins set the road HR record today. They're going to end up with more road homers than the 2017 Sox hit both home and away combined.

Interesting stat - Jacob deGrom has given up 3 or fewer runs in 52 of his last 55 starts. His record in that span is 16-16.

Mets about to be swept at home by the Braves and Cubs. It has been a fun ride, but that should just about do it for the WC2 hopes.
This is prime Mets work here. Season was over in July and then the team goes on an incredible run, making it to the heart of the playoff race. And then they drop six in a row and are no 5 games out of the wild card and they have to leap 3 other teams, too. They are not officially dead, but time is running out.

I really enjoy watching the Mets fail.
