August 2014 Game Thread

Dan Haren at 74 pitches through 3. I'm not saying they should have given up the farm, but not making a play for a SP isn't looking great right now. Still have all of August to make a move, but that's still something like 4-5 more starts given to Haren.
Jonny Gomes hits one RHP really well. He's 6 for 13 with 1 double and 4 HR against Joel Peralta. Melvin brought Gomes in as a pinch hitter just now against Peralta, got two bad pitches and then Maddon had Gomes intentionally walked.
And a 2nd one, just because. 3 HRs through 3 games in the MLB, 15 HRs in his last 35 games across MLB/AAA.soxhop411 said:

Too bad every other team in the AL would block Koji being picked up on waivers by Detroit. This would be a great time to squeeze a good prospect out of them.

Lackey's just serving up BP right now. Delmon Young absolutely CRUSHES one to LF on a screaming liner for a 2-run shot. A hanging curve right in his wheelhouse.
