it's not clear that the MLBPA is going to sign off on the A's playing at a AAA field for years (the shouldn't)
I’m way late on this, but this is essentially what killed the Arizona Coyotes in the NHL. They had an agreement to play in Arizona State’s barn until they could get this dazzling complex built in Phoenix or the eastern ‘burbs, and as each fantasy plan fizzled, the NHLPA basically wanted concrete plans, and the team couldn’t give them.

Sorry if it’s already been discussed and I missed it, but what are they going to call the team next year? One of the announcers on the first playoff game today referred to the “Oakland A’s organization.” Will they use Sacramento in the team name next year?

I’m relatively sure they mentioned they’d just be the Athletics, without any place designation.
