Apple adds live probability stats as the AB progresses e.g. Cano started out as a 19% chance to K which rose to 29% at 2-2. Kinda cool.

C'mon guys. One game, at home, against the Rangers. We're all gonna be OK.

See? Tie game.

I can't deal with these announcers on the AppleTV game - literally non-stop talking, and barely talking about the game at all. I like some of the live probability stuff (although I question how accurate it is), but they really need to improve the announcing team because it's pretty much unlistenable right now.

Yeah, just came to post about this. They spotted them 7 runs and they have the ability to quickly make deficits disappear.

It’s going to be a major problem.
Yeah, I’m struggling to see the Sox plethora of lefties in the pen are going to be utilized against the mostly RH Blue Jay lineup. Get well soon, Barnsey.

This is the only prediction I’m going to post this year: the White Sox are not going to win their division.

Feel free to fling it back in my face in June if they’re running away with things!

I'm usually pretty cynical about announcers and game presentations but I didn't find the Mets/Nats broadcast all that bad. Chris Young was good; he obviously loves the game, gave good insight, and had a good sense of humor. Newman on play-by-play was perfectly cromulent. She knew what she was talking about and did a good job presenting the game. The third person that they chatted with for their "tangents" didn't add much at all. While they could stand to rein in the tangents I didn't find those overbearing. I also wasn't hanging on every word nor do I care for the Mets or Nats, so maybe if they were doing a Sox games my feelings would be different. I'd certainly take what I heard last night over any booth with Matt Vasgergian or A-Rod in it, that's for sure.

Also, the on-screen graphics were probably the best I've ever seen which isn't a surprise given that Apple has always been top of the class when it comes to interface design.

I get the reasons, but the Padres took Darvish out after 6 hitless innings on Thursday at 92 pitches. Reasonable I guess given pitch count. But then they take out Manaea after 7 hitless on 88 pitches? I get the analytics and all that, but I wish teams would give guys the chance to finish it off

Screw the analytics, they're coming off a shortened spring training. Don't break them on the first trip out.

Credit to Witt for getting the ball close enough to the plate, but Sal Perez made the great play to grab a pretty bad throw, turn and make the tag.

Zach Plesac considers himself the best defensive pitcher in the game and will do anything to get an assist...

He shrugged off the trainer but was removed a few minutes later for reaching his early season pitch count after 5.2 scoreless innings.

The Blue Jays feel so much like the mid-90s Indians with the explosive young lineup and better pitching than they get credit for. They're a lot of fun to watch, even on days like today when you know it's over as soon as it starts.

Just came here to post similar as Vladdy Jr. just crushes his 1st HR of the season. Springer and Chapman homered in the first, Danny Jansen in the second and it's only the third inning. Man are they stacked!!!

Hunter Greene is having an absolutely phenomenal MLB debut against the Braves lineup today. Fastball sitting at 100mph with ease and locating his pitches pretty well too. This kid's starts are going to be must-watch for me.

The balls seem to be flying out of the ballpark to start this season. Wonder if they juiced the balls again

I fully expect regression to hit like a knee to the groin, but Steven Kwan has started his career 7-for-9 with 3 walks.

5-for-5 today and hit by a pitch. He's reached base 12 times in 14 plate appearances, and just came up a few feet short of his first home run.

edit: I can't count

He averaged 99.7 mph on his fastball, hit 100+ 20 times over five innings. Made some mistakes in the fifth but he's incredibly exciting.

It's cool seeing the prospects start the season with the big club instead of coming up in May or later. It gets the season off to an exciting start.

Agreed, it's great. Looks like a couple more are coming too. The Pirates are calling up Roansy Contreras (still burying Oneil Cruz though) and the Rays just called up Tommy Romero.

Speaking of Oneil Cruz, the Pirates kept him down because they conveniently just decided they needed him to change positions to outfield (when Kevin Newman is their shortstop), so of course he needed to stay down and work on his defense there.

Here's how that's going:
