Weird thing in this Mets game, Lopez throws a couple inside at Schwarber, umps warn both benches. Lopez then proceeds to drill Bohm right in the back with a heater... and umps warn both benches again, no ejection.

I think the umps may be taking into consideration what the Mets pitchers have been complaining about in regard to the number of their batters being hit by pitches--that the balls are tough to grip. Mets batters have been the most hit this season, but for the most part. they're not blaming the opposing pitchers, they're blaming the balls. I watched the end of a Mets-Cards game the other day and five batters were hit in the three innings I watched, and none of them seemed intentional (In one case, Ottavino spiked a pitch a foot and a half in front of the plate and it skipped up and hit the Cards batter in the foot as he tried to get out of its way). Whatever MLB is doing with the balls this season, some pitchers are having difficulties gripping them, and they need to do something about it before someone gets seriously hurt.
