I'm not finding much information on the Sox site, NESN, or a general search of the Googles. This makes the travel plans a bit difficult.

Should we plan to be in the seats for 1? Noon?

I believe the official account of the Red Sox tweeted to be in your seats at 1PM Friday.

Another question on this topic. This is my first year with MLB.tv and no cable (yay for unblock-us!). Can I expect the ring ceremony to be broadcast on the MLB.tv NESN feed, or am I SoL?

Lose,

Is that BSL telling you to be there at 12:30pm  or are you doing the 50/50 and it is the Sox asking you to be there by 12:30 pm?

I'm trying to sort out if you think the ceremonies will start at 12:30 pm or that is when I should get there to get a chance to greet all my SoSH buds before the ceremony starts at 1:00 pm.

These are important logistics.

We could all gather at BSL's seat at 12:30 pm and flash back to Game 6 and the celebration that nigh!!

Time for some SoSH fist pumps before the ceremony starts.... Woot.

edit: little banana guy was giving me a seizure.

Cumby already touched on it but you're most definitely SOL. You might be able to catch the last five minutes (broadcast will start at the top of the hour, even if first pitch is five minutes after) but they will not broadcast the rest of it. You would need NESN or MLB Network to catch the ring ceremony.

I asked a RSF employee who told me she "thought" the festivities were starting at 12:30PM.  She should have access to the "script", but I don't know if she was referring to it or not in her reply to me.

How have they not publicized this? I gave tickets for Friday and I've been looking around for weeks for this info to cope with logistics. Pretty damn annoying.

I was told "be in your seat by 1:00. Few of us are having lunch and will be at Fenway by 12:30. Looking forward to seeing y'all Friday.

To be honest, I am shocked that Drew is not going. Did the Sox and Drew end on bad terms and I missed it?

I'd imagine Pedro gets a ring, right? It would be cool to see him receive his with a huge ovation since he couldn't in 2005.

Pretty psyched, but I'm scheduled til work til 2... If my boss is in a good mood, I can get out as early as 12... sadly, I have very little faith the green line can get me from Park Street to Kenmore in under an hour. Too many bad experiences.

43 Minutes according to Google Maps... alternately, I could take the Orange line from Downtown Crossing to Mass. Ave and walk, which is about 22 minutes.

The last time I used the green line, I got on the train at North Station 5:15 for a 6:00 meeting near Copley, and wound up being 20 minutes late.

There's no way that walk takes 43 minutes. Straight up Boylston and then loop around.  30 minutes would be my guess.

About 35-36. It's 18, brisk walk, from the Mandarin to gate B,. And about the same from Park to Mandarin via cutting the angle through the Common.

But depends on your gate. If you're going to Gate E or A, go through the state house and down Beacon, especially since it's downhill to Arlington. Can you jog a part of it?

For the opener, I'd do the scenic option via Beacon or even Comm Ave (gonna have to hold at more intersections at reds)  Which ever the case, cut through the Common unless you're worried you'll get lost, but I think Green line should be fine

Walk to around the Pru and the Pour House, and then you should be able to find a pedicab to get you to the park. Those dudes haul ass.

Dropkick Murphys and Members of the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra
To Participate in the Festivities;
Fans are encouraged to use Public Transportation

BOSTON, MA – The Red Sox open their 114th home season this Friday, April 4, with Opening Day festivities set to begin at 1 p.m.  The Red Sox play the National League’s Milwaukee Brewers at 2:05 p.m.

The pre-game ceremonies will include the presentation of the World Series rings, presented by Samsung, the performance of the national anthem, a helicopter fly-over, the Ceremonial First Pitch, and the call to “Play Ball.”

The ceremonies will include a moment of silence in tribute to Lieutenant Edward J. Walsh and Firefighter Michael R. Kennedy, who perished last week when a 9-alarm fire raged through a Back Bay home a mile and a half from Fenway Park.  The firefighters were from the station on Boylston Street that also protects the ballpark.

The singing of God Bless America in the middle of the 7th inning will be performed by the Boston Fire Department Quartet.

The Dropkick Murphys, along with Keith Lockhart conducting members of the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, will perform during the ceremonies. Members of the Hanscom Airforce Base military will line the length of the Green Monster wall as the American flag drops for the anthem.

To maintain the Opening Day tradition of a fly-over at Fenway Park, the United States Coast Guard will fly a single MH-60T helicopter, representing all of our armed forces, at the conclusion of the national anthem.

In honor of the 2013 championship, players will wear special gold-trimmed Red Sox jerseys with gold stitching around the World Series Championship patch on the left sleeve, and around the letters and numbers on the front and back of the jersey.

Fenway Park gates will open at 11:35 a.m., 2 ½ hours before the first pitch.  For the rest of the regular season, gates will open 1 ½ hours before the game, except for Season Ticket Holders and Red Sox Nation members, who may enter at Gate C 2 ½ hours before each game.

As always, and especially on midweek day games, the Red Sox urge fans to take the T.  In addition to the familiar Green Line stops at Kenmore Square, the MBTA has also built a new Yawkey station for its Commuter Rail service.

The refurbished station, located just 511 feet from the doorstep of Fenway Park, now has as many as 40 scheduled stops per day, up from only 17 flag stops previously.  Yawkey Station is part of the Commuter Rail’s Framingham/Worcester line, which runs from Worcester to South Station. The last outbound train from Yawkey Station departs at 11:36 p.m. on weekdays and 11:10 p.m. on weekends. Departure times for the last train leaving Yawkey Station are subject to change based on the length of the game.

presentation of the World Series rings, presented by Samsung,

So does that mean Samsung is presenting the rings, or presenting the presentation?

Oy.

I hope MLBN will show the ring ceremony and not just the game. Becuase I doubt the NESN link will be active on the MLB.tv page until closer to first pitch

American sports fans need to get used to the fact that military jet flyovers are going to be gone for awhile.

New England's MH-60Ts are all stationed here on the Cape, and are fairly new replacements for the decommissioned HH-60J. They won't create nearly the spectacle of an F-15 fighter jet, and they're certainly not the war machines UH-60 Black Hawks are, but as search and rescue vehicles go they're pretty badass.

Any idea what the rings look like? It'll be interesting because the B is on the 2004 rings and the Sox on the 2007 rings.

I'm actually surprised they won't be streaming this on nesn.com or mlb.com ..

They streamed the White House visit which was far less important.

I bet the ring says "Boston"

And I think it would be really great if curt was asked and able to throw out the first pitch. It is also the 10-year anniversary after all.

I caught the last few minutes of the blah Intentional Talk show today and at the conclusion of it Millar said he was heading to Boston for the opener.  So there could be a 2004 thing at this ceremony.

After the game on NESN they said that the pictures/description of the rings wouldn't be made public until after the presentation and insinuated that even the guys in the team had no idea what to expect.

I'm just guessing the ring will be Boston Strong themed. Like the 617 jersey maybe?

That's gotta be one big-assed ring.

Might just be the Red B surrounded by blue, from the Boston Strong logo.  Although that's pretty similar to 2004.

It will be streamed on mlb.com and redsox.com

The festivities are expected to begin at 1 p.m. ET, roughly an hour before the first pitch against the Brewers. Fans who aren't at the game can watch the ceremony live on mlb.com and redsox.com.

In the latest budget agreement, they eliminated the sequestration cuts, so that article from February 2013 doesn't really pertain to Red Sox Opening Day...

Guys, the ring ceremony starts at 1PM and game time is 2:05PM.  MLB coverage isn't starting until 2PM, so don't expect much of the ceremony.  We need another source for those outside New England....the search continues.

Edit: NM, read up the thread and it looks like redsox.com has it
