As we wait for the last and biggest free-agent shoe to drop, where do you want those Kawhi's 16EEs to end up?

Part of me hopes he stays in Toronto as they took a chance and it paid off, and having him in the East is ok even if it makes it tough on the Celts.

The Clippers would be fine too, he's out of the East, and its not the fucking Lakers.

The fucking Lakers are, pardon my politics, like Donald Trump Jr. banging a hottie, and thinkng its because he's smartest guy in the room.

Fuck the Lakers, they get who they want when they want, not becasue of brilliance, but because young 20-something athletes like to bang 10s and like the beach and hate the snow.

And i want them stuck on 16 championships, because, well you know why.

I wish I was a Laker.

I voted Raps because the city/country is in love with hoops because of Kawhi. Clips would be okay too, 'cause who cares about the Clips? But ABBT Lakers is the real winner here. I don't root for any LA team, because of the Lakers (kind of like NY/MFYs, without the 'heat of a thousand suns' part)

Clippers—East is going to be tough already even without the Raps being good. Would be nice for the West teams to have to beat each other up a bit.

Side note: how much does Utah have riding on this? Kawhi in LAC vs LAL is such a massive difference for their Finals odds. Same for Houston and Denver.

For one reason or another (possibly because they AREN'T the Lakers, possibly due to the Doc connection) I often find myself rooting for the Clippers, and I think it would be fun for the Lakers and Clippers to have a real rivalry spearheaded by legitimate stars on both teams. So for that reason I voted Clippers, even though it's almost certainly the least likely possibility at this point. Toronto would be ok too, particularly if it's a short deal, since the Celtics don't figure to be serious championship contenders for the next couple years anyway and I'd much rather have Toronto come out of the East than, say, Philly.

Hopefully the Clippers but I’d rather the Lakers than the Raptors. I’d love to see what the Celtics can do with a Kawhi-less East next season.

Toronto, because it's what's best overall for the long-term health of the sport. The player empower movement is one thing, but we've never seen the best player on a championship team bail on that organization to team with his buddies on a lottery team. It undermines the entire existence of the CBA, the max contract and free agency.

Small corrections. americans became aware of how much Toronto/Canada loves basketball because of Kawhi. The 6 Caadian kids drafted this year did not start playing because of KL.

I changed my vote to Anybody But But The Lakers. I'm really ambivalent whether he stays in Toronto and rewards those fans (but makes our path out of the east a lot harder), or goes to the Clippers to build something closer to home, be a believer in Jerry West and be a thorn in the Lakers' side.

Not to quibble, but there are definiely LOTS more Raps shirts on the streets of Toronto this month than there were a year or even three months ago

Same. I'd rather see him go to the Clippers than Toronto, but given a choice between door #1 (95% Clippers, 5% Lakers) and door #2 (100% Raptors), I'm taking door #2. Easy decision.

Some garbage eastern conference team that would stunt the growth of a high draft pick

Cavs maybe?

The toilet.
Raptors. I'm not worried about what it means for the Celtics, a championship probably goes through him either way.

I like it when hard-luck franchises get rewarded for taking big chances, and for good management. And having Canada be excited for basketball can only make the product better long term.

Most importantly though, fuck LA.

I was going to vote Lakers just because of all the heads exploding, it would be like the end of Kingsman around here.

I switched back to Clipper though. Ultimately, Steve B has been very very good for my bank account. and I just love the guy. It would be remarkable to watch a Steve Balmer Championship Parade

If he goes to LAL it would be like 1969 all over again with the balloons dropping and the USC band and then Chick Hearn interviewing James, Leonard, and Davis, in that order. I couldn’t bear it.

Ed: but seriously it would also increase the odds of me rooting for the Sixers in the Finals yet again, which was already getting old the second time I had to do it, and this would be number five.

I would have voted for an anywhere but Lakers option if possible (seriously Jalen, you better not have gotten my hopes up now after finally coming to grips with what I thought was now inevitable...)

Without that I voted the Clippers - Seems the talking points have always been that he wants to be in LA and wants to be the focal point of a franchise and seems like the Clips finally have their act together to make that a desirable location to accomplish those things. Plus as a competitor, trying to steal the spotlight and outperforming Lebron and the Lakers would be an added bonus.
Plus he already reached the top in Toronto. I guess a short term deal there makes sense, but I also think you can justify the thinking that you reached the pinnacle there and the Clippers can be in a better position long term...but again, seriously anywhere but the Lakers.

The Celtics? I know, I know.

I went with the Sharks but any crappy team works.
What is funny is Kawhi could name some team out of left field and they'd immediately scramble to renounce and trade players to make him fit. Such is the nature of the NBA right now.

I was going to make a snarky comment, but your avatar already has it covered, well played.

Are there though? I moved here in 2015 and the Raptors were the toast of the town even then with Lowry and Derozan. Saw more Raptors swag then than Leaves gear (this was pre-Matthews draft) even.

I think this city has been primed for a while for a really good basketball team. Kawhi just helped them get what they craved.

I want to hear Kawhi say: I'm taking my talents to North Bay.
