I'm starting this thread for people to chat about all the teams that don't merit their own thread, but still play games in the PL. For a second there, I was worried Man City didn't have it's own thread, and everyone knows they're going to win the league again, but no worries, they have a home. There are a lot of good teams out there, some of whom will ride the crest of the wave for a time, while others will be pulled into the roiling undertow. In many cases, it will be the same team at different points of the season.
I started a Leeds thread a couple of years ago, but it was too narrow to promote a broader discussion. So let's invite Forest, Leicester and Villa. Also Brighton, Bournemouth and Soton. And the rest of you. You know who you are.
And until @Dummy Hoy starts his lower league thread, bring on your Wednesdays and Blackburns.

I'm just glad Exeter has started with some points in Div. 1. haven't seen them play in many years but since they are out of Div. 2 maybe they will make it on the Ocho or something.

Brighton and Brentford are the two most interesting teams that would belong in this thread. Well, maybe interesting isn't the right word- how about intriguing? I'd throw Forest in there too because I think Steve Cooper is (like Frank and Potter) a brilliant manager (despite hilariously perpetually possessing the Willie McGee "I smell something bad" look on his face).

Also, yes, fucking Leeds could be very fun...it pained me to root for Bielsa but I could do it. Now bringing in Marsch (who I want to succeed because I like the RB playing style and because I want xenophobic englishmen to shit themselves with rage when he wins)? It's too much. Just don't forget they're still the second most accomplished Yorkshire club.

Seagull here, reporting for duty. I started a couple Brighton threads way back when they were in League 1… yeah, the trend since has been positive. Honestly, this club over the last 25 years is one of the most amazing stories of ascendency in sports, anywhere. From having their Fenway-esque stadium sold to (and bulldozed by) a strip mall developer, moving dozens of miles away, then to a high school field, miss falling out of the FL by a single goal… to, new local, rich, ethical, longtime supporter owner, new, gorgeous state-of-the-art stadium and facilities, promoted to and now established in, the PL, and a credible threat to win every fixture… and a club that now has a rep of finding exquisite talent (and has the transfer windfall to show for it). At this point, the only parts not proven to be replaceable are manager Potter (we’ll see, I fear) and owner Bloom (the best possible steward of the club).

I don’t know how I got so lucky finding this club as a soccer-stupid Yank on a Brighton study abroad semester in ‘99. Being an Albion supporter is endless entertainment. Guy Butters 4 Life. UCL, here we come.
