"Mark Buehrle, who isn't even on Toronto's postseason roster, was the only player ejected."

Man, this had everything didn't it? I missed a good one

I think it was Saunders.  Too thin to be Buehrle I think.

Anyone willing to take a stab at it?  Even a brief summary?  Just tuning in now.
Wouldn't know where to start.

Top 7th, Martin's throw back to the pitcher is deflected by Shoo's bat, ruled (correctly it seems) a live ball, Odor scores from 3rd, Texas leads 3-2. Fans throw shit on the field, Gibbons protests.

Bottom 7th, Hamels gets 3 outs, all are dropped by infielders, bases loaded, no outs for the Jays. Next batter up they get a force at home (and Texas tries to get a double play called on the slide). Next batter is Donaldson, who hits a pop up that should have been caught by Andrus but wasn't. No infield fly, they do get a force at 2nd. Next batter is Bautista, hits a towering 3 run HR, pimping it the hell up.

Benches cleared twice.

Inning lasted 53 minutes (top and bottom).

I'm sure I missed something.

Someone explained that he isn't on the roster and was ejected for coming into the field too many times.

TOR sure did a good job stockpiling pitching talent, they traded eleven pitching prospects at the deadline and still had three guys under 24 to pitch this entire game (Stroman/Sanchez/Osuna).

The Rangers have no one but themselves to blame. They were up 2-0, with the next two games set for home.

Who gives a flying fuck if Bautista pimped his homer?  He just hit the second biggest homer in franchise history.  That was incredible theatre.  Grow up, asshats.  These fans are fired up, screaming, going bananas.  This is awesome.
I'm quoting this from way back, but I could not agree more.  A friend of mine on facebook (who played D1 ball and overall is a pretty good guy) said that Bautista deserves one in his ear every at bat for the rest of his career (he's a Yankees fan).  I basically said, "if you can't bat flip there, when can you?"  He told me it was embarrassing and that I've been watching Papi for too long.

Baseball players (and some fans, I guess) are way, way too sensitive.

Bautista gonna get buzzed a few times for that. And there will be more than a few Jays opponents trying to top that bat flip for years to come.

They won a f'in LDS on 3 Rangers errors. Big deal.

They hadn't won a playoff game at home since 1993. Its a big deal. Its the biggest homer Bautista's ever hit. You people are joy kills.

ESPN Box score says 2 players ejected:

RP BUEHRLE (ARGUING) EJECTED TOP 8TH
RP CECIL (ARGUING) EJECTED TOP 7TH

Pure emotion. You kick everyones ass in the regular season then go down 2-0 in the ALDS and in Game 5 your down for most of the game. I think even JD cracks a smile.

This was a game lost by the Rangers' defense. Elvis Andrus must be crying now. How could he not be? (Unless he was paid off, which I don't think he was.) But the Toronto fans will undoubtedly see it as a glorious victory.

I think the only thing you missed was the popup should have been caught by Odor, not Andrus.

Great recap, that can't possibly come close to describing how awesome that inning was.

Can't it be both? No doubt Texas coughed it but the Jays had to take advantage .. And what advantage they took!

Loved the bat flip .. Incredible theatre .. god I love baseball.

What a marked difference in the broadcast team, huh?  Even Pyrzlaroafnvzxi...what an ahole as a player, but he's not half bad.

Andrus has to be absolutely devastated. He single handedly handed the Jays three extra outs. Bautista never gets to the plate if not for him botching all those plays (not that inning at least).

Also even if TOR went 1-2-3 in the 7th, they had two more innings after that against a pretty burnt bullpen.

Only that is was the best Baseball Karma, EVER!
I've seen numerous people say this and I don't get it. It was a bad throw by Martin and the just outcome. If they had overturned it because the ump called time, that would have been worse by far. The runner was going to score legally because Martin made a sloppy throw. It's no different than if he had throw it over the pitcher's head and the runner had scored.

Because people misuse the word karma.

If you want to attribute it to the "baseball gods," that's fitting in context. But it has nothing to do with karma

Fair enough "Joey Bats" can have his big bat flip moment -- "no disrespect intended just feeling it man" -- I just dont want see any shit from the Jays when others respond in kind. What goes around, and all that.

No doubt my lack of enthusiasm for the moment depends entirely on my deep seated dislike of the Jays. I never really got over George Bell -- Bruce Kison and the Junior Felix-led come back.

The broadcast team mentions that the Astros are loose after blowing a 4 run lead. Last time up Lidgeballowed a monster shot to Pujols in the 2005 ALCS, they came back to win the next game and the series back in 2005.

And... 2-0 Astros.
