Chili Davis helped fix Xander and JBJ. Positive results with Pedroia as well. Is that worth nothing?

Nobody was more excited than I was when the Sox got Davis, but I didn't know that X and JBJ were attributing their improvement to him. I wasn't actually complaining about the Magadan non-sign, just wondering what people knew about why he wasn't re-signed.
