So Houston beat out Milwaukee to be the first team to represent both the American League and the National League in the World Series.

HAPPY
YANKEE
ELIMINATION
DAY

Or, put another way, Or, put another way: Aaa! A hymnlike, pinioned typy. Even more fitting when you consider we're clipping those Yankee wings, with respect to the term pinioned.

Hell yeah, ITParker, thank you for the message this morning-you were right and I couldn't be happier to be wrong. Going try to not to wake my Yankee family. Love the fact YES is doing a promo with this house for whatever reason. One order of schadenfreude, to-go!

Never in doubt.

McCullers was fucking money.

Astros batters were pretty bad for much of the series but the Astros' pitching was really good. They held the Yankees to 1, 1, 1 and 0. Never would have expected that. The series was won with the Astros being able to win two games with two runs.

Apologies if this was mentioned earlier either in the thread or on the broadcast, but I’m assuming the Astros the only team to win a pennant in each league?

It sort of came down to home field. It shockingly made an enormous difference

At some point I'm going to be bummed that I won't get to hate-watch the MFY's in the world series

I’m expecting my first child next month. Lord knows there are already enough horrible things in this world at the moment...but at least He won’t have to be born into a world where the Yankees are World Champions.
Thank you Astros!
Congrats, man! My first born ushered in the Booby V era, so there you go!

EDIT: Typo above but I'll let it stand I think.

For the first few minutes I thought Sterling was pretty good. Now I'm starting to think he sounds constipated.
He's just factually wrong a huge amount of the time. Occasionally I listen to him do an inning or two when I'm taking a showerr, then I watch the same inning or two on TV and it just bears so little relation to what he just described.

But they're so young and talented, they're sure to be back for years to come! Just ask the 2015 NY Mets

This is a wonderful combination of sweet and insulting.
Happy YED, y'all. The nice thing is that I don't care who wins the WS, just that it be well-played, which I expect it will be.

If Houston wins the World Series, it will be only the second franchise to do so in two leagues, joining the American Association's 1886 St. Louis Browns (currently the Cardinals), who won 4-2 over the Chicago White Stockings (modern Cubs).

Fox claiming the Astros are the sole team to win pennants for two leagues are incorrect, especially given who the AA gave the NL eventually, and in turn MLB: Pirates, Reds, Dodgers, and Cardinals. Both is also a misnomer given the history of the league. Lazy research on their end.
