I was frustrated by the Sox game 4 loss, mostly because of some bad umpiring, but Keuchel would very likely have beat the Sox in game 5, and even if the Sox had somehow won I think the Yankees would have beaten them handily. If the goal is eliminating the Yankees, I'm glad that Houston was able to wrap up the ALDS in 4 with Keuchel available to pitch like this today.
Eh, maybe, but I always like to see the Sox win another game. Let Houston figure it out when they have to.

So wtf was the issue with Kluber?
Release point. Going back to mid-September, it had been a bit higher than his norm, allowing the typically late life to come earlier in the pitch, making offspeed and breaking pitches easier to lay off. So there was compensation and it looks ugly from there. Numbers didn't terribly reflect the reality, but it was notable from scouting game film.

Interesting. I only saw him pitch at game 20 (or something) in the streak, threw a dominant 9 inning shutout.

How about an unexpected 2-run HR from McCann? The current 2-run lead is too small.

edit: guess not. The top of the 8th is where this game will be won or lost.

Oh boy, no way this ends well. Yankees have their Shrek-sized slugger. Houston's ace is out. Astros are going to melt like the wicked witch at the end of Oz. We're talking a team that has won one LCS in its history. They don't stand a prayer. The Yankees always come up here with something scrappy here, right? We've seen this song and dance before. Enjoy the lead while it lasted, Astor proud. You may as well already be losing.

How many of those reverse jinx can you pull off?

Beautiful. Last three pitches to the last two hitters: fastball away-fastball away-slider.

Watch him do it to Bird.
