Pretty fucking awesome. Including their last regular season game, KC has now won 10 straight games. Their largest margin of victory was five runs over LAA. The rest were one to three run nail biters.
Read somewhere that since 1979 the franchise has only won 10 straight games in the regular season twice.

they were down 7-3 in the 8th. to Jon Lester and a very competent As squad. in a winner-take-all game.

Who gives a shit what the owners have to say?  I mean, really.  One person shouldn't own a team.

And just think, three weeks ago they were throwing the fans under the bus!
Wow, feels like it was longer ago. You're right, that's pretty crazy.

The Royals players and management look like they came from two different planets. My friends have instructions to shoot me at the first sign of senility (if I'm remembering that correctly)

I'd rather they give the trophy and have the ceremony for the team that wins the most games in the league during the season, right after they clinch that mark. It'd be a nice little trinket for a team that was the best over 162 games.

Not sure why Beane gets shit on at this point...

Good for KC. Now they have to hope SF wins the next two, so they don't have a long wait. Look what the long wait did to the Rockies in 2007.
The NLCS finish is irrelevant to the start of the WS, though.  It starts on the 21st...I suppose they could hope the Giants win ASAP so that THEY are almost as "rusty"...or do they hope for it to go seven so that the other team is tired/has their pitching out of order?  I'm sure they (the Royals players) don't give a shit, for the most part.  Either way, they sit for six days now.

Wow, thought KC could win but never expected a sweep. Hope they take it all.
They had to close this out ASAP. As noted above, it was as fragile as it was magical. They have been streaky.

It's great. And the only guy I feel badly for is Duquette, who took a job nobody wanted and spun gold. But hell, he is resurrected now.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that a) Moore just bought himself at least three more years and b) most Royal fans are no longer lamenting that trade. Shields hasn't looked great in the postseason but they don't get there without him.
Wade Davis had a 3 win season. Blows my mind.

Also, apparently Cain bunted on his own in the 1st. Yost said so in his post game presser.

Every AL contender was eliminated via a sweep.

Some may say that 2014 shows that the playoffs is a crapshoot, but I say if you're swept out, you don't deserve a WS berth.

The 2014 Royals are a much better team than the 2007 Rockies.

Don't know if that is the case.  Think the 2007 Rockies ran into a far better team in the World Series from a much better league.  Don't think the remaining NL teams are that much better than the Royals.

Not necessarily. Yost has his players bunt a lot in KC b/c the ballpark is so big and the Royals were developed as a pitching, defense and speed team. His guys hit HRs easily in Baltimore. He probably won't ask Big Papi to bunt.

Just saw this on MLB network.  According to Inside Edge.

BAbib on well-hit balls in the ALCS.

O's  hit .350  on 22 well-hit balls.

Royals hit .688 on 20 well-hit balls.
