I understand that Sal Perez is a very, very good player but I can't think of a single positive thing he's done this postseason, so far.

And, queue track meet
Dyson is such a weapon.

Big steal threat, improves the defense big time. And isn't a disaster if/when he comes up to hit again either.

Explain the "Pearce holding the runner on" thing to me.

By starting so far off, then moving back towards the bag on the pitch, isn't he actually in a worse fielding position than someone starting on the bag and coming off on the pitch?

I agree - the only thing I can think of is that its distracting to Dyson, but Dyson (and other KC runners) are so quick that they have an advantage getting back to the bag and with Pearce out of position, it strikes me as risking an errant throw.  But Buck is a mad scientist so it must be brilliant.

When this is all said and done, Hosmer will not have to buy a meal in KC ever again, will he?

Only if he wants no vegetables in the meal. You can't get those for free in KC.

The announcer says odd things.

On Hosmer's single to RF, he said "well hit to right" and well, yeah he did, but that's usually a call for a fly ball.

Then on the throw to the plate he said, "Dyson tagging...the throw...in plenty of time....for Dyson to cross the plate".
