Never would have thought KC/Mets World Series a few months ago, but there you have it, and they are the two most deserving teams.

The ump screwed Revere on that call but given Davis stuff he may not have even hit the ball that AB.  The fact remains that the Blue Jays left the tie runner on third after having no outs.  That isn't winning baseball.

The Royals deserved to win and they did.

Just can't be happy for the royals bc of that call. That was fucking awful. For the love of God bring in the robots. Enough is enough.

Please ... the Royals didn't win tonight because of one poor pitch call by the ump.

What the fuck does that mean?

That was huge stones from Davis.

That call didn't cost the Blue Jays the game - the shitty ABs aside from the ump did.  How do you leave the tying run on third with nobody out?   Gibbons should have sent anyone but that corpse Navarro out there to fan at pitches.  It was pathetic.  This isn't on the umpiring.

We will never know what would have happened. That was a HUGE missed call. You can't just toss it aside. Had a massive impact on the key ab of the series.

Exactly.  At the end of the day, the Blue Jays had the tying run on 3rd with nobody out and couldn't hit a fly ball to the outfield to get him, and with 2 outs, they had their MVP at the plate, and he couldn't get it done.  Royals win and deservedly so.

For fuck's sake, how many other single-pitch moments in this game could have swung the balance in either direction?

All you guys poo pooing that ump gaffe would be going nuts if the sox were in the jays' shoes. It was a bullshit call that may have changed the outcome of the game - how does that not bother you if you love baseball?

OK Pete Rose can pass out now.   They can just kick him under the desk and finish the post game. No one will even notice he's gone.

We are not talking about a ball that was slightly outside the zone. That was a huge mistake at a key moment. And I'm not saying that bc it was close and late. Saying that bc it affected the hitter's ability to plate a run from third with less than two outs. Don't act like it's just one little pitch

Thanks Phrenile.
Yeah, it was both ABs. Really poor.

And it may not have. You're all pissed off over that one pitch call ... how pissed are you at Price and the Toronto bullpen blowing the lead in Game 1?

It's just one fucking moment in a game filled with moments.

THEY HAD THE TYING RUN ON THIRD WITH NO OUTS AND COULDN'T GET HIM HOME.

But yeah, it's all because of one called strike.

Because anyone who loves baseball knows that having the tying run at third with no outs and not getting it home is a horrific fail.  The wasn't the doing of the ump - that was the combination of a great pitcher and hitters who couldn't get the ball to the outfield.    And to your point, all evidence points to Davis getting Revere even if that was called a ball.  They could have called Navarro's pitch a ball and he likely still would have fanned.   The better team won.

No matter how that turned out, that was one of the best games I've seen in a while. If that were the Red Sox I probably would have killed myself from all the stress

I'm a Red Sox, not jays, fan so I don't give a shit if price blew game one.

I am, however, a baseball fan, and it makes my blood boil when umps have a material impact on the result, especially when we are all staring at handheld advices that tell us where the pitch was from hundreds of miles away. It's fixable...but they won't fix it

You have serious issues, then ... and I'm ill-equipped to handle them

It's not a fail if it's aided by a huge umpire error. Davis is a nasty pitcher and revere earned a 3-1 count, which is a materially better situation than 2-2.

Don't be a prick.

What's wrong with being bummed out by a terrible call?

Because you weren't "bummed out." You built a soapbox to rail a single pitch call that you said may have affected the entire game.

And I'll be a prick if I want to be.
