All I know is that I am not interested in seeing this season end this Sunday.

This is a rare opportunity for the Pats to play the underdog role, although I hope they don’t borrow those stupid masks from Philly.

I don't have anything profound to say but this thread needs to be bumped ahead of the division game since Instaface and his way back posting machine has struck again.

Like the OP, I'm not ready for the season to end. It's still a month or so away from pitchers and catchers reporting and that's a lot of downtime.

I like and agree with the poster(s) that talked about playing this game with house money. I think most of the public are expecting (and want) KC to win. I, too, am not ready for the season to end. They looked so good last weekend. I'd love for them to have another crack at #6.

This Sunday could be an all-timer. Supposed to be a decent size storm coming through Saturday night and pretty shitty conditions on Sunday. Fill up the house with food and drink, get cozy, and wait for 6:45pm to come. Biggest challenge will be pacing myself. Doesn't hurt to have Monday off. I hope I'll have a reason to stay up late and celebrate.

Toucher and Rich were playing clips from some yahoo morning show out of Kansas City. I know it isn't fair and I would hate for people to judge me as a Patriots fan after listening to Felger & Mazz, but it stirred up a little bit of hate inside me towards the Chiefs and their stupid fans and made me want the Pats to win even more just to crush their souls.

Win this motherfucking game. Seems like an eternity until Sunday night.

I want that entire division to viscerally hate the Patriots. Chargers fans now have 2006, 2007, and 2018 so we're all set there. Raiders fans have the Tuck Rule that they'll never get over. Broncos fans don't like the Pats but they've actually had immense success against Brady/Belichick with 3 postseason wins since 2005 and only 1 Tebow spanking on the road. They're basically the AFC Giants.

KC, on the other hand, only has a Divisional Round loss in a game they weren't really expected to win. They also have spanked us on opening night and destroyed us in that infamous game on MNF. A home AFCCG loss to the Pats would get them to a level of bitterness that we like to see.

Make it so.

Fire on all cylinders for 4 quarters and embrace that underdog role. And then do it again. This is part 1 of the 2 parter I’m not fucking old and dropping off a cliff bowl.

Eric Berry is reportedly going to play in this one. He's played in all of 2 games all season. He must've been training with Bob Sanders on the "Only get healthy when the Patriots are your opponent" method.

I know Berry on paper is an upgrade but a hobbled safety who hasn’t played pretty much all season? I’m not too upset about that.

I saw one of the games Berry played and he looked terrible. This is a guy coming off an achilles tear with a bad calf playing in freezing temperatures. If they want to use him on Gronk, so be it. I think even 2019 Gronk can beat him if need be.

Let's increase our Super Bowl appearance lead over the 2nd place team, from 2 to 3.

Agree. And if you go back further he has only played three games over the past two seasons. Here is to hoping Berry is on the field for a large number of plays.

I have no idea how they can win this game. I was at peace with the thought that they made it to another AFCCG until people started throwing around words like “torches.” That can wait until next year.
Tom, Gronk, JMC, everybody who’s nearing the end, it’s time. I’ve been saying this team is going to have to Logan their way through the playoffs. Here’s to at least 60 minutes more of a serum induced rage.

Pats win this game easier than anyone expects. Greatest coach and greatest QB of ever count for a lot.

GAMEDAY.

at some point if we lose, I'll rationalize it and won't be too regretful. but right now I think Gronk is retiring or traded, so I want this badly for him.

I've been getting a 2004 AFCCG in Heinz type of vibe all week, at least in how the offense could perform. I'd love to see a rough repeat of that game.

Funny you mention 2004 as that's the same vibe I've been getting; going into a hostile environment, facing a rookie QB, odds are stacked against them (although I think the Patriots were favorites in that game?).

Confuse the shit out of Mahomes and light up that weaksauce KC defense; score early and often, survive and advance.

What a long week, finally game day.

The only outcome that I cannot abide is a ref-enabled KC victory. Let's hope we get limited refball and the game is decided by the players on the field.
Yes this, I posted in the other thread that according to FO the biggest mismatch in the game is the Pat's 4th best OL vs KC 31st ranked DL against the run. Phantom holding calls could easily ruin the NE gameplan. Anyone watching the KC IND game last week saw one of the worst holding calls of all time when IND was called for holding on a defender that had already fallen down. That shit simply can't happen today.

I love Mahomes but he makes a couple throws a game that are a horrible idea. Harmon just has to catch them.
