I think its a bit reactionary to say he's held back by his scrambling style based on one half of football when we have several seasons and other playoff games worth of evidence that it's really really effective.
It makes for great highlights and when needed its great, but he lost the game today by bailing from the pocket early instead of hitting Kelce open at the end zone.

This also isn't that reactionary to one game. The Chiefs offense was broken for the last half of the year, outside of the Bills and Raiders game.

Kupp is amazing.

As for Mahomes I have no issues with him personally. He’s great, although I dont like his sideline dancing bullshit. I root against the Chiefs because of Hill, and their fan base is gross.

Don't hate him. Think he's over-hyped (like Jeter, as mentioned above) but very talented (unlike Jeter). I think we feel like we need to talk him down a bit to counterbalance the hype.
His cutesy "Imma tiptoe along the sidelines for 6 extra yards now, and don't touch me or you'll get a flag" move annoys me, but he's fun to watch.
Ok I lied. I'm going to make another comment. The Jeter comparison doesn't work in my opinion. Jeter was hyped way more than Mahomes, at least so far. And Mahomes is arguably the best QB in the league. Jeter was never even the best player on his own team. The disconnect between the hype and the talent isn't close when you compare Mahomes and Jeter.

Also Jeter is a douche.

Guys - remember when Mahomes threw a bunch of interceptions and lost to the Bengals? That was sweet.

Alright. The thing is, Mahomes is great. He's been great since he took over as the starter. It would be stupid if he didn't get a ton of attention. It's not like Brady hasn't gotten a ton of attention for 20 years. It just seems like he's a weird target. But ok, I don't want to turn this into a Mahomes debate. I thought I was missing something about him but apparently I was over-thinking it.
I think youre taking to a fan base that had a serious rooting interest against Mahomes while he was emerging as a star, had a front row seat to a the “heir apparent” talk, and it’s more fun to hold onto that resentment than let it go.

May I ask an honest question? As a non-Pats fan I don't follow this forum too closely during the regular season. Why do so many here hate Mahomes so much? Hill, Kelce, sure I get it. But did I miss a story about Mahomes doing something douchey? To me he's a fun player to watch and since my team has sucked forever I tend to root for interesting players to make the SB as opposed to teams, and Mahomes seems like he would qualify.
It’s more KC hate than Mahomes hate. We tend to not like pretenders to the Brady throne.

He got more coverage for two incomplete passes be made in a blowout loss than anyone else would have in last years super bowl

I mean. Derek Jeter is 6th all time for hits.

How can a guy with the 6th most hits in the history of baseball not be talented?

That's where I shake out; his brother and fiancee seem like bozos, but I just don't really care about that. I feel more strongly about rooting against Hill and while I have one really good friend who's a Chiefs fan (and the self described "only liberal in Missouri") I am otherwise happy seeing that fanbase going home sad.

But Mahomes seems fine. He's really talented. The sideline shit is cheesy but whatever. I try to appreciate greatness, and instead of letting it grate on me I just recognize the 'Next GOAT' fluffing as attempts to generate clicks.

Obviously they went crazy against Buffalo and LV, but they also scored 31 against Cincinnati in their first matchup, 34 against the Chargers, 36 and 42 in two games against the Steelers and 28 against a really good Denver D, all of that since December 12. There was a 5-6 week stretch where they were winning every week despite doing nothing on offense (other than against the Raiders), but their offense had been rolling for awhile before the 2nd half of this game.

Haha he also kept running around in circles until he got sacked a couple times. Also this morning Nick Wright tweeted that he placed a bet that involved giving the bengals 20.5 points.

I mean, look who’s number 1 ;)

But yea, Jeter is an amazing athlete and baseball player, and if he played for the Royals in relative anonymity everyone would feel very different about him.

That was awesome. It was like watching someone slip into blackout mode while still gripping their controller playing Madden.
