This is my last Saturday off of work for a few months, so I need JA Happ to remember how to not suck.

I'll still have fun since I won't be working, but I'd have more fun if Happ was dealing. And if the offense quit doing a Jekyll and Hyde thing.

First time all season NY uses the same lineup twice in a row:

LeMahieu 3B
Judge RF
Gregorius SS
Sanchez C
Encarnacíon DH
Torres 2B
Gardner CF
Voit 1B
Tauchman LF

The lineup does seem that way at times or Jekyll and Hyde and feast or famine, but I’m not sure it’s characteristic of the them this year. Maybe there’s some sort of metric out there that determines this. So far they played 23 games in which they scored 2 or less runs, and that about 16% of games played.

Yesterday almost no one seemed particularly concerned with actually winning, it's not like Boone made any overt suggestion, but I don't want to contemplate that the entire succession of Sox pitching was of such quality as to so comprehensively able to shut us down because of what that bodes for the playoffs. The exception, of course was Brett, who is utterly incapable of modulation: he has one speed, full tilt boogie...

It's the third series in a row where the Yankees have been overmatched in the opener (8-2 against OAK, 7-0 against TEX) and they came back strong in the previous two series.

Men on 2nd and 3rd with one out, have to score some runs here. And thanks for the avatar. :)

Such a quaint old bandbox. The sun is peeking through the middle of the stadium. Didi hit it right into the sun beams. JD never had a chance. He’s out there, staring into the sun, praying the ball isn’t hit his way.

Now another sun ball.

EE homers. 4-0 in a flash.

Even though this series means little, my mood is lighter when the Yankees are winning.

Still fun to watch Gardner running the bases.

Judge makes routine catch of liner to right, backtracking, looking into the sun. Eck allows as how Judge “plays a nice right field.”

With 2 outs in 6th, Happ walks Mookie (9 pitches) and then goes 3-0 on Bogey. Gets him on a 3-2 grounder to short. Not an easy play for Didi and Voit scoops low throw for third out. The defense looks solid heading into Fall Ball.

Just catching up, and I see that if JBJ was in CF today, this game might still be 0-0.

Figure Chapman is pitching today no matter what, he's only pitched three times in the last three weeks.

Was sure that was a hit from Mookie but it just stayed up and Judge caught it, exhale.

Good win.

Scranton is losing 4-1 early, their season is over if they lose, so maybe we'll get Thairo and Heller tomorrow.

Gleyber is a better hitter than Didi so please bat him third permanently. Or as Cone would say - stack your best hitters at the top of the order.

It's a lefty/righty thing, not saying I agree with it.

First back to back scoreless starts from Happ since 2015, wow.

Just another day off the calendar, a day closer to getting ready for October. Happ might be a good road starter in playoffs. Not a good fit for YS.

Happ is much better when I don't see the game. It'd be great if he rounded into form in time for October.

Scranton is eliminated in a squeaker, 17-2. Besides Thairo, Higashioka and Valera should join the team, hopefully they activate Heller too (2 shutout innings with 5 Ks tonight amidst the carnage).
