Due to Kyle Gibson's ulcerative colitis (ouch), the Twins are going with a bullpen game to start this series, opened by one Randy Dobnak. Interesting name.

the Twins passed the all-time single-season team HR record this past weekend. Of course, they still have 25 games to play to pile on.

Here's two contradictory facts: "1.6 HR/9" Porcello against these mashers seems like another rough start to come ... but Rick did go 8 shutout innings at Target Field in June, by far his best outing of the year ...

No days off!

- Bill Belichick

Actually, they, the team, have had a lot of Mondays and Thursdays off lately. Keep on fighting ‘til we get WC1 or WC2.

The Red Sox have Batting Practice Porcello going against the all-time HR team, while TB has two against Baltimore, and the A’s and Indians both face pitchers with ERA’s over 6 while starting Fiers and Clevinger, who are a combined 23-5.

Reverse locks all around!

Baltimore only down 2. It feels like they're this close to sweeping TB, but I don't want to get overconfident this early.

BREAKING: Baltimore up 3-2. It's happening. This is the day we'll look back on as the Turning Point after the Sox defeat the Mets in Game 6 on a Mookie ground ball through Todd Frazier's legs.

O's held on. I'm a stubborn optimist and never turned the Telly off when Mariano went to the mound in the 9th inning, up 3-0 game 4, up by a run. I also really thought the Sox were going to beat Tampa in '09..... I posted some ridiculous possible scenarios for the Sox to get in in the Playoffs thread.

Oof a LONG foul ball followed by a 55' breaking ball that bounces up and hits the leadoff batter on an 0-2 count. Rick Porcello and your 2019 Red Sox everyone.

Feel like Porcello always coughs up the 2 out hit just when you think he might escape

Yikes.. what kind of contract does Porcello get this offseason? Does he even get a multi year deal?

Most misused of that particular icon of yours ever?
I'm the relentlessly positive ALL CAPS exclamation point guy. Glass is always filled to the brim. I never stop believin'. Besides, even the great Pedro Martinez once gave up a first inning run on a cheap bloop hit. Rick's got this.

God our pitching fucking sucks.

How many times have we seen a guy get a huge second out only to just suck with two outs.

Throw a first pitch fucking strike, Rick, and that shit won't keep fucking happen over and over and over.

He's fucking rotten. This fucking team.
