At least one question about the future may have been answered in the past week; it would appear that Marco H. would not be a viable candidate for the everyday second base job next year.

While watching last night's game, it finally really sank in that there would be no October games for the Sox this year. Well, at least the replica championship rings they gave out at Fenway are pretty nice.

" I agree, but I was disappointed to return to the thread after lunch and find so little enthusiasm. "

Long time lurker, big time Tribe fan here. Trust me, there is a LOT of enthusiasm for this game, and we are appreciative of the effort by the Sox the last couple of nights. But it would be helpful if you guys could lock one of these down...and that bogus strike three call on JBJ is an example of the rabbit's foot the Rays have been carrying around for weeks now.

Was there confirmation of Betts aggravating that foot, or is he just being rested?

Hoped for a little more, but honestly looking a gift horse in the mouth. This lineup doesn't produce 6 runs most days, let alone in the first 4 innings.

And Eovaldi follows with a shutdown inning. Small gifts I will accept.

Miami (oh, Miami!)
Sheesh. Looking at the MLB Boston box score - per that there are 17 pitchers on the active roster who have not appeared in this game.

Six of those 17 have an ERA of less than 3.99. Can anyone name them without looking?

The 1 p.m. football games and the Sox game started about the same time... most if not all are done and the Sox play on. No wonder the younger generation doesn’t like baseball as much.

Thanks, guys...hate to ask you to do it again, but we'll need another good effort by the Sox tomorrow night. Hope to see Betts and Benintendi in the lineup somewhere. Why lose three of four when you can get a split and give the Rays something to remember you by when they sit home out of the playoffs.

Actually, we have no power. If we did, the Sox would be in the playoffs.
