September 29th is officially the last day of the season for the Red Sox. Let's see if the Sox can make an effort toward making it the last day for the Rays too.

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Allow the Sox's frail deeds to dance in this Tampa Bay

This game seems to have the unusual starting time of 6 PM.
Without Devers and Mookie hitting, and JDM out, the lineup can be a bit ordinary. Of course, Gorkys hit a triple last night, so one never knows, does one?
Do your best, lads!

surprised JD is in on shitty Tropicana turf. the season's over man, whether he opts in our out his health is more important.

Exactly when will he been on the turf?
presumably when he's running on base.

DH certainly mitigates the risk, but groin strains are nothing to play around with. and we have NOTHING to play for, and you can argue losing out to slightly improve draft pick is actually better.

but that's the strict business side of it. as a fan, let's have the A lineup get a couple more reps before we say goodbye for the year.

Crazy to look at those two lineups and think that TB is the one still fighting for a spot and BOS is the one out of it already, TB's cleanup hitter got DFAd by two teams this season.

I see the boys of summer in their ruins

Sounds about right for the Red Sox at the start of autumn.

I can’t believe a team with that lineup is going to finish 20 games out of 1st. 4th in MLB in runs scored, two MVP candidates. What a waste of a great offensive season. Damn the pitching.

I know you know, Jon, but the rotation absolutely exploded this year, and the bullpen was shit too. Strange, dissatisfying year given how solid they were offensively. First team ever with two 30 HR/50 2B teammates (Bogaerts/Devers--hat tip Joy of Sox) and nothing to show for it.

It's weird, I think, but I remember a lot of shitty offensive games, too, just waiting around for some hits as the innings went by.

Tough year. Win today.

Mookie's route was circuitous. He has not measured up to his 2018 in the field.

The nice thing about this season is it'll teach folks like that Adrian's Dome dude not to count their chickens. 100 wins as a baseline or whatever he said. Lol.
