The Land of Thomas Cecil
It’s the Troutless Angels. Take the series, as Heaney has been hit by mean regression like the late 1920s economy.

So perhaps the interesting notes I’m looking for going into tonight:

-That Tanaka starts today, not Friday. Is this to line up with ALDS Game 1?

-Stanton, more reps, more batspeed. Would love to ensure that he’s ready to roll come October. Would love to see him smack a fastball in the right field seats tonight.

-Ottavino reversing course. Want to see him how he looked in the summer. With Betances out, all pen pieces at optimal quality is a must. More confidence, feels like is needed.

-No more fucking injuries. Duh.

The team has to be so read for the playoffs. Certainly feels like they've taken their foot off the gas just a little bit these last couple series. Some missed opportunities that we aren't usually missing.

Kind of disgusted right now (although I guess waiting for details), but I suppose worth noting that my man Mike King was promoted to replace him.

I'm also disgusted, and it's also a bit depressing. I don't want to be reading this crap and especially about players I root for.

Funny to watch Didi and Simmons try to impress each other defensively, you can see why Didi had to play 2B whenever they were teammates growing up, but Didi is making some plays too.

The events of the past 2 days have made a complete mockery of any attempt to plan our post-season pitching strategy, or any attempt to be critical thereof, as to everything else regarding running a clubhouse and managing, it's amazing just how happy and motivated Aaron has everyone...

Clint! NY with 2 HRs 'down to their last out' in this game, that will help the team total race.

Chapman with a bunch of 102s and even a 103, not sure I've seen that all year.

Hell of a regular season. Home field would be nice but this is huge. Fuck the wild card game.

Also NY wins another home series, I think it's now 19-0-3 since mid-April.

Fun team to watch almost from the first week on. Once Andujar went down, the karma began. So many replacement players excelled. I think they can win it all despite the late losses of Betances and German. They won all year without Dellin. Seve replaces German, who had replaced Seve.

They overcame a tremendous amount of adversity to get to this point. All the injuries, the horrid pitching stretch back in July, Paxton’s 1st innings troubles, and even today with German. A resilient team.

Also, three of the last four series of the year the only meetings of the year against AL West opponents, such a ridiculous schedule this year all across the league.

I still say Boston got screwed the most with the opening 12 games on the west coast, starting in Japan. Price you pay for winning it all.

I skimmed through the 2020 schedule when they released it recently and it looked way more normal all around, no idea what happened this year. It was like they had a joke schedule circulating around the office to make each other laugh with how bad it was, and then somehow that was the one they used.

Wow, Buck Showalter in the YES studio with a huge compliment to Boone, Buck was the Orioles manager still when Boone was hired, and Buck said he thought at the time "oh man, I wish they got someone else." More Buck in the studio!!!

Buck has been great tonight, as always. His words on Britton were informative and funny. Zach had one pitch then, just like Mo.
Britton makes me confident.

Bat signal for Jess/@Brand Name!

Pesky Bo Bichette is in concussion protocol so will likely miss this series, good news there for NY.
