That's your ticket to a successful big league career, Garin Cecchini - power! Booyah!

Announcers think this is Eduardo Rodriguez for some reason, despite the whole not left handed thing.

It's Celestino, for the record.

I was wondering about that. They are going on and on about his electric stuff and how he is going to be a star and I'm seeing some pretty mediocre stuff.

Oh, man. Brett Hayes just sent one into orbit.  Bounces off the cement and onto the bottom of the CF scoreboard behind the stands.

4-2, Omaha.

I was listening while doing some editing work, and looked up after hearing their call. All I saw was the ball soaring -- yet I still fell for the Rodriguez thing.

I hereby rescind my lofty praise of George Grande.

They were doing it the minute he was up in the pen. Guess everybody who might correct the error was sent home with the crowd.

Castillo fucked by the ump. I'll mark that down as a nice 3-2 walk in his brief minor league stat line.

Brentz watches a middle in hanger go by, then chases one off the plate for the last out of the 8th.

Oh well, we won the Governors Cup, which seems much more meaningful.  I don't really know what this one game playoff means or why they even hold it.  Anyway, last game thread  - great year - see y'all in 2015!

A win tonight would've been nice, but man what an incredible season for this franchise -- and the system as a whole. Easily the most fun I've ever had following the affiliates.

Agreed that a single game is pretty meaningless. As for the bold, Gildan probably sends MiLB a nice little check for their sponsorship (with NBC forking over a lesser amount for broadcast rights) but who knows what that money goes towards.

Mad props for those of you who stayed up thru the rain delay and madder props to Cuzz for these daily threads of sweet sweet nectar as to who may be coming down the pipeline to soothe our major league ouchies. Especially in seasons like this, this board is all we've got to keep us excited about Red Sox baseball

Two ex-Sox on the Omaha roster: RHP Clayton Mortensen & IF Pedro Ciriaco.

That's a lotta neck.

But I really came here to thank the keepers of this particular flame.

Terrific year for the farm system - many thanks for the comprehensive, reliable and off-hours work that made this forum such a font of information.

Other than snippets in a few scattered college football games over the years, I haven't heard George Grande's voice since the original SportsCenter days in ESPN's infancy. He sounds great. Having Kaat on color work is a good broadcast pairing.
I thought George was one of the Red's announcers? I seem to remember catching his voice on Red's telecasts over the years.
