1. Aaron Judge, who is having a monster season
2. We all live long, meaningless lives and it is nice to have something to fill up 3-4 hours of each day
3. It's a common topic my entire family can bond around - whether we are venting or cheering
4. More often than not, they make the playoffs which is nice. Imagine being a Mariners fan
5. Sterling's home run calls
6. Giving me the chance to enjoy Gerrit Cole and his strikeout numbers
7. I'm running low now, because I don't find this team all that likeable and they have been very frustrating this season ... so, lets get another win please.

(I think you forgot a few words there, EE. 'will be fired in a few weeks.') :)

Yeah, he almost certainly is. But if he isn't, it's because the Yankees pull off something awesome. I'm rooting hard for awesome and hope to see Aaron in the dugout next spring.

Yes, it is a test of the power of positive thinking. :)

The only downside to making the playoffs is if it gives cover to the terrible roster construction and Boone.

Trade Gleyber and sign a real shortstop. Start DJ at second. Make Gio a super utility guy (or trade him) and sign a new third baseman. Maybe the Seagers can man the left side of our infield.

There are going to be moves, Gio and DJ are quietly having pretty mediocre to bad seasons too. What about signing Seager and trading Gleyber for Bellinger? Let Rizzo go, keep Voit, keep Gio. Bellinger is a great defender so if NY can somehow get him hitting again, he would be a great fit, also a lefty and he plays both 1B and CF well, so that would allow them to better plan around Hicks.

C-Sanchez
1B-Bellinger/Voit
2B-DJ
SS/3B-some combo of Seager/Gio/Peraza
LF-Gallo
CF-Hicks/Bellinger
RF-Judge
DH-Stanton

That is a pretty flexible team also.

Corey or Kyle Seager? And trading for Bellinger would be incredible. I know he was awful this year, but his potential is through the roof.

Gio had a weird year so he stays. Gleyber is suffering from Devers-itis. Still a kid I think and very sensitive but ultimately the talent is there and my guess is that Cashman won't give up on him yet.

I like this plan, but I guess I would be surprised if the Dodgers traded Bellinger for Gleyber.

I do think they'll try to pick up a short term fix at SS for one or two years rather than go right to Peraza. Short enough that it won't prevent Peraza from moving early. But maybe Gio can be that guy. If his hitting recovers at all, it plays better at SS anyway.

Bellinger is going to be very pricy in arb, like $20M+, much pricier than Gleyber, and Gleyber has an extra year of control. I think it's a pretty good match, but of course NY could always add to it if they needed to and wanted to.

I was excited to sell high on Chad Green's last season this winter but now they will probably have to keep him and try to fix him.

Gleyber and Green are two players I don't ever need to see in uniform again.
It was good baserunning because it worked, but if someone catches that, Gleyber is doubled off there and the game is over.

Gleyber had focus issues in the field from the very start, but we figured he was so young that he would grow out of it and learn more consistent focus. He has not, that was inexcusable.

He had an awesome view of the developing play, so I'm giving him full credit. Only fair after shit-talking him.

Yes, more please. The Blue Jays scored 11 in this situation a few days ago against BAL, down a run and 11 in the final inning.

So, they ejected the grounds crew and now it's pouring?
I think they were distracting, it was like 30 guys and they were maybe all in the dugout or around there somehow. He just sent them down the RF line and around the corner, out of sight somewhere.

That AB by Gardner was amazing, how many pitches was that? Distractions and all.

Just amazing how often you see something for the first time in baseball, no matter how many thousands of games you have seen.

Well, Wade would have been doubled off too. So, either way the game was over. They clearly had the go ahead sign and a better read in person than on TV.

When you're playing a team this good with this much on the line, it's gonna be a dogfight every time.

Chapman for the third straight day over a well-rested Abreu, not the call I would have made but not my job on the line.

You never know with Chapman, maybe he needs more work to get back to his 101 range.
