Luke homers again, No. 18. He’s a better hitter than Judge.
I think this is not so serious but even this year Judge has a better OPS, 1.081 to .977. Voit is obviously a beast though and probably a top 5-10 MVP candidate at this point, really impressive season. This one was off Giles in only his second game back in a meaningless AB but still nice to see NY hitting Giles at all as he had their number last year.

Was it before 2018 or 2019 that A-Rod insisted that Sanchez was NY’s best overall hitter? Good call dude, tell us more of your expert opinions so we know what to bet against.

King having trouble getting third out in ninth. It’s 20-6.
I will watch the end of this game later but King’s outing (5 hits and 2 walks allowed in the 9th with a 17 run lead) coupled with the news today about no off days in the first three rounds of the postseason has to boost Clarke Schmidt’s chances of getting at least one test start this season. Right now NY would go with Cole/Tanaka/Deivi/Happ/Montgomery which is pretty solid currently but Schmidt should at least be sixth and next up if any of the five can’t go. Cole and Tanaka line up for the final Sat/Sun games against Miami so there’s a good chance they’ll be skipped and presumably Schmidt will get one of those so he has at least one career start under his belt in the regular season.

I favor Voit because he has fewer holes in his swing and probably better plate discipline. Judge walks more because he scares the shit out of pitchers. Can you imagine these two getting hot at the same time in October, with DJ setting the table?

Just saw that news an hour ago. Wow. Favors Yanks and their deep rotation? Assuming it stays deep. Definitely write Schmidt in for the Miami finale. Great call on your part. I doubt Boone has thought that far ahead yet.
