According to ESPNs player page for Jose Iglesias, he already has -0.2 WAR for the Red Sox, heading into tonight’s game.

How is that even possible? He’s been pretty good offensively in his very limited time here. Has he been an absolute butcher in the field or something?

The team defense is the issue.

The pitching has been mostly good; the offense has been mostly good. The defense has been 29th of 30 teams by most measures.

We simply can't afford three DHs, especially if we want to play a bat-first SS.

Remember there were those of us who wanted a bit more out of the trade deadline (but Bloom is a genius)
The Red Sox seem unable to get the opposing team's best hitter out ... like ever ...I mean, Haniger is good, but he hits .250
What a waste of a great start ...

Our lineup is like a pickup game in the local park. Different every single day with multiple switches. IMO Brasier started out great but needed more than our our defensive lineup looking mopey and dopey

The team is a joke right now. They were a disaster before the Covid issues and they can’t get out of their own way now. They might make the playoffs, but I doubt it.
Yeah, it does seem they have a fatal flaw. I mean, besides the Schwarber error both Renfroe and Verdugo kicked around balls, and Verdugo made two ridiculously bad throws ...the defense is horrendous ...

Kikes error yesterday…today Schwarber has a ball pop out if his glove that any varsity high school 1b in the country makes.
It’s not just that they suck defensively but it seems every single mistake is pounced on by the opposition without fail.
Amazing

They don't exactly put the fun in fundamentals

I thought Verdugo was a pretty good outfielder until they put him in center. He cannot play center at all. And he has really dropped off in left. His arm looks suspect lately.
