The Wild Card Battle moves out West.
Time for the Sox to prove who is best.

The world is watching... well at least Sox, Mariner, Yanks, Jays, and A's fans who can handle West Coast start times.

The Twins lived up to their expectations today.

As mentioned on that thread...."Death and Taxes".

Eyes on the prize today. Let's sink the Mariners.

Four runs in the first, 5-0 before the roof caved in, 3 in the bottom of the 8th to tie it, a run in the 10th to win it.

The Twins have PTSD whenever they see NY and pinstripes.

It's absolutely unbelievable.

Yet they played like world beaters here a few weeks ago, hit 900 home runs in that series.

I don't mind the West Coast games too much. 4:00 pm start time and rolls into dinner time.

I hate them. I will get in bed before it starts, and I hope I am not foolish enough to stay up till it ends.
But your mention of the word "rolls" made me wish I had some. Even though I just had supper and a cookie.
Geaux, Sox!

It's sort of a meme, but - Twins v. Sox 2021:
2 W, 5 L, 29 RS, 46 RA.

Yanks:
1, 5, 25, 46

TBR:
3, 3, 34, 35.

Other years are similar.

My family is falling ill, one by one, to a fearsome stomach virus. Can it be long before I myself am laid low by it? I'm trying not to see this as some kind of metaphor. Anyway, go Sox!

Toronto up 6-0 in the 5th. Gotta win to keep pace.

If the Jays win the wild card game, I think they should be the betting favorite to win the AL. A 93 ALCS rematch would be sick.
It's got to be fun being a Jays fan right now - are they going to have won 12 of 13 after tonight? They'll come back to earth, but I agree they look good for beyond this stretch too.

Well, it's Seattle which has always been a hard place for the Sox. But as bad as the pitching matchups were this weekend they are just as favorable this week. Plus Seattle does not have a bruising offense like Chicago.
So a series win is very doable.

I'm always concerned with guys like Crawford who have their own name tattooed on their arm. Was he afraid he'd forget? Does he have that little imagination?

This inning is a nothingburger if the ump calls that 1-2 to Crawford right. Then two weak bits of contact, of course. I can't wait for our barreled ball out to the track in this cavern.

One note though, he didn't get a swing & miss all inning.
