I'm still watching because the Sox in an off year is still better than no Sox at all. These guys are playing out the string, are no doubt discouraged and tired, and now they get to watch the fireworks of a front-office reshuffle. Still, I like to watch Mookie and X and Rafa swing their bats. I like to watch EdRo come into his own. I like to watch Red Sox baseball. I hope they rip the hell out of the Jays tonight because, meaning or no meaning, it's still fun to see them win.

I'm with you. The off-season is long.
I have no problem just enjoying a single game for what it is, not necessarily in the context of a full season. Yeah, it sucks that the Sox won't be in the playoffs, but I'm damn glad they're playing tonight. Might as well win.

Baseball is fun. Red Sox baseball is even better. Enjoy the remaining games. We’ll get ‘em next year.

that was pretty brutal. yeah the guy has been outside 7 pitches in a row, but that was a perfect low & away strike. sometimes you do gotta take.

it worked out last year, but the pitching philosophy needs to change. this is too many pitches per inning, by the whole staff, all year.

Good Benintendi. THIS is the Sox I loved last year...2 out scores were in abundance then.

Who is this guy McGuire and what hope can we find for Eo going forward?
Eo looks pretty good to me. His velocity is still excellent, he's got good movement on a variety of pitches, and he hasn't broken down again since returning. If he can avoid further injury, he's one of the highlights in a shadowy starting rotation.
