Here at hadlock for the next few games. Wikelman started and just finished up after 5 innings. He looked good giving up only 3 hits and 1 unearned run. FB sat 94-95 throughout with some hop, topping out at 97. Good curve but had trouble controlling it. Plus the change. His somewhat violent delivery, command issues and lack of size bothers me some but I could see him as a bottom of the rotation guy or reliever.

My trial is done. I appreciate all y'all's patience during these trialing times. Should be caught up on things later this week.

Yeah... I think that's a fair analysis. He's still a leap or two away from having mid-rotation upside. This year has just been kind of treading water, although glad he got it turned around when he did.

Zach Bryant allowed a run in an inning & Christopher Troye allowed two in two.

Gabe Jackson pitched a 1-2-3 9th with 2 strikeouts. He's been less overmatched in Portland so far than one might have speculated

Portland lost 4-3.

WooSox were trailing 4-2 in the top of the 5th when the game resumed. They ended up winning 11-4.

Bryan Mata was back for another rehab outting & faced 3 hitters, sandwiching a walk between two strikeouts.

BVB continued his nice stretch of pitching by throwing the last 4.1 innings scoreless, 3 hits, 0 bb, 4 k.

The 1st 2 runs of the game had come on a RF Bobby Dalbec homer (RIP). C Tyler Heineman replaced him in the lineup & went 1-3 with a double.

1B Triston Casas started the game & went 0-2. He was replaced by SS Kristian Campbell who went 2-2 with a walk & a steal.

C Mickey Gasper started the game & went 0-2. He was replaced by RF Roman Anthony who went 0-2 with a walk.

SS Chase Meidroth started the game & went 0-3. He was replaced by LF Corey Rosier who went 1-3 with 2 steals.

DH Nathan Hickey was 0-1 with a walk. He was replaced by DH Kyle Teel who went 2-3.

LF Eddy Alvarez went 0-1 with a walk. He was replaced by 3B Dalton Guthrie who went 2-3.

Only 3 hitters made it through the whole game:

2B Vaughn Grissom 0-4, bb

3B Jamie Westbrook who switched to 1B & went 1-3 with a walk & a hbp

& CF Tyler McDonough who was demoted to Portland on August 16th & called back up on September 5th, & who went 3-5 with a double.

If you're a box score person, this is kind of a fun one:

& finally, the answer to the math question:

I calculated the title % based on 5 innings left in 1st WooSox game, the assumption that the 2nd game would be 7 innings, & the Sea Dogs game being 9 innings.

This all hit as all 3 road teams won in regulation. So great success on that...

... but what if we count by pitches?

WooSox - Game 1 (today): 60/100 (160)
WooSox - Game 2: 129/114 (243)
Portland - 141/139 (280)

So 403 to 280 = 59% WooSox, 41% Sea Dogs (by pitches)
