Boone cares about Terry! I felt bad for Clint that they pinch-hit there, but Ford made him look good!

Wow. I'm not sure they can DFA Ford.
No, he saved his spot this past week, they got another one today when they put Hale on the 60 day IL.

Wow, that was surprising, you know a team is having a great season when they win a game like this, where they used total scrubs to cover two innings and still come back and win.

Also pretty cool, no walkoff HRs for NY since last August (Neil Walker!) and then getting them in back to back games against a potential ALDS opponent.

==============

Yankees Hit Back-to-Back Tying/Walk-Off HR

8/6/1949 vs Browns
Tommy Henrich & Joe DiMaggio

8/8/2000 vs Athletics
Bernie Williams & David Justice

9/1/2019 vs Athletics
Brett Gardner & Mike Ford

538 has NY at 105 wins and Fangraphs at 104. With everyone they’re getting back in September, I think they surpass that. I’ll predict 107.
I’ve been thinking 106 for a while, that would be 16-8 from here. The home field race will keep them pushing though.

That is a materialization of home-field advantage, 48-14.

Hendriks only gave up two home runs all season before those two, and one of those was in the 4th inning in mid-April way before he was moved to closer.
