Andy Robertson bully-balls Ricardo Pereira, nice finish by Mané

I should note, concurrent to this match is South Korea v. Japan, in the match for Son Heung-min's future

Great run by Roberston. Great to grab so quickly after Salah's miss.

LFC is vulnerable to this press without Keita. Backline distribution has been lacking.

FIRMINOOOOOOOO

I'd also like to use this real estate to note that Paul Tierney is the worst official in the prem, given the demise of Bobby Madley

Ha.

Liverpool keep scrapping. They've only looked great vs West Ham so far, and West Ham is making everyone look great right now. The newly rock solid defense has been a godsend. The press and attack have to get straightened out in advance of the brutal upcoming stretch.

A handball, high boot, and another foul for Firmino to this point without being booked

On the other end, Tierney hears boos and decides to book Van Dijk 10-15 seconds after his infraction

Virgil is having a weird game for him. He’s been out of position and misplayed a few passes. He’s usually not so out of sorts

And a goal

Pretty normal match then for him.

4 on 2 and no shot...oof

Of course with Milner running the break it’s not exactly like having Jason Kidd out there.

I for one am shocked that the best keeper in the Pl in front of the greatest defender the Pl has ever seen conceded such a silly goal

This third CB substitution has always driven me nuts under Klopp. Never really solidifies anything and creates confusion IMO

edit: ah, guess it's different this time as Gomez is out to RB

Hey, I know most people like goals, chances, nice displays of passing a skill, but.....

Do you love easy passes badly misplayed?
Do you love unforced mis-dribbles out of play?
Do you love refs who only blow the whistle if it's a yellow (none of these basic fouls, or handballs, nah.)
Do you love two teams floundering around in the middle 75 yards of the pitch?
Do you love listless drifiting?
Do you love crosses to no-one?
Do you love corners that never come close to a teammate?

THEN WOLVES/HAMMERS IS THE MATCH FOR YOU!

Second half of Palace Southampton is pretty entertaining. Saints got off to a quick start, pinball in front of their goal, but Palace couldn’t convert, then Hennessey saves a penalty. Still 1-0 at the 66th.

Alonso should 100% be off

Guessing after the international break, Sarri will begin starting Giroud up top. Morata's done less than nothing

And of course, two missed sitters from Bournemouth and a deflected Pedro shot later, it's 1-0 Chelsea

WOw, Raul Jiminez botches a 1 v 0 breakaway. Goes up the other end and Rui Patricio makes a great save with his Face and may be concussed.

Looked as if Tony Rüdiger blocked off Fraser within the box

And it's over, Hazard beats Begović low

Oh good lord. A bad giveaway in the 93rd minute while both teams are running out the clock for a draw, easy goal for Wolves and West Ham stay bottom.

The passing between the back line and Cech is scaring the shit out of me right now.

I haven’t watched much of Leno but his reputation is very very good. Cech seems to come up with a few decisions a week that an old struggling keeper makes. Are the arsenal fan base wanting a change in net?

And did Torreira sleep with Emery’s wife?

I was thrilled to finally see both Lacazette and Aubamayeng starting, but still the roster move I want most is Torreira in the starting lineup.

I admit to also having seen very little of Leno. Fans are definitely very down on Cech. I actually think outside of his footwork with the ball, he's slightly better than he was last year, but I wish he wasn't the presumptive starter for every PL match. Leno should get a start every 3 to 4 games and then performance should set usage going forward.

Lacazette with a tight angle rocket to retake the lead. Wow.

Edit: don’t see why Torreira isn’t a part of the staring IX yet. His passing is incisive.
