Nesn just showed the Blame it on the Rain video with Papelbon and Delcarmen. And now Delcarmen is telling a pretty crazy story about how the video came to be.

and it's gonna be weird when mlb makes them resume the game on 9/30 with the second wild card on the line. :(

Boo hoo.

The Red Sox are scheduled to fly to San Diego for a series that starts Aug. 23. Boston likely would have flown to San Diego the night of Aug. 21 after the home game against the Phillies. Now they will fly once the game against the Royals is complete.

“Yeah, there’s a lot of people upset about that one,” said Red Sox manager Alex Cora. “No golfing, SeaWorld or Legoland. No marina, no whatever. It is what it is. There was no other option. We’ll play it and we move forward.”

This is dumb, They should only finish this game after the season if necessary.
Normally I’d agree with you but hearing Cora complain that a team that hasn’t shown up to play all season won’t get a chance to go to Sea World because of it, fuck them, play it out on 8/22.

Question about the resumption of the suspended game: Does each team start with its full roster from scratch? Or does a player that has already played and been removed from the suspended game remain ineligible to the resumption in 2 weeks?

The latter - it picks up exactly where it left off as if it had never been suspended.

bringing this back up.

suspended games are very rare, simply because it must be a rained out game that is at least halfway played, but also tied. to see one at Fenway with a likely fairly empty crowd will be something worth seeing... maybe the only thing worth seeing as the real transition to playing for 2020 settles in after an ugly Phillies series. I assume Josh Taylor, who did not pitch last night, will be ready to continue his outing.

Billy Hamilton is due up 3rd in the 10th for the Royals. he is now on the Braves after a waiver claim.

Bump.

Top 10, 4-4. 2-1 count on Viloria.

Red Sox have used Rodriquez, Hernandez, Eovaldi, Workman and Taylor. Barnes, Cashner, Brasier, Smith and Walden are left in the pen.

Benintendi, Vazquez and Moreland are due up in the bottom of the 10th
